Used books store pick up.
I'm judging a book by its cover with a real steampunk vibe.
Anyone read this one?

Ahhhhhhh I found it! After searching for my book in question for hours I finally found it. And bonus it‘s written by a Cherokee citizen 👏🏽
This is my assigned book for the week and I'm a bit dubious for some reason. Has anyone read it?
A deeper truth exists, waiting to be found... inviting me to go every direction at once, and none.
This was interesting. Loved it. I feel I may have gotten more out of it in print than audio. Feel like I lost some of the story but it was still a great book.
Audio cleaning and audio laundry and etc, etc....
The second #NYC bookclub on my docket was the #2030SomethingBookClub. Almost 30 in attendance for this one.
A couple folks liked this one quite a bit, but otherwise it was declared a unanimous eh. 😆
If you‘re looking for an entertaining action-packed light read, like for the beach, then this selection would work.
Tea, freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies, and books. I‘m set. 😎
#BookNDinner! I‘m continuing the healthy eating best I can *grumbles*. I have lost 15 lbs., so it‘s working, but I want tots 🙈! Anyway, accompaniment this warm and semi-sunny evening: my stir fry of broccoli, mushrooms, green beans, carrots, chicken breast, parmesan & asiago cheeses, and a variety of seasonings; and a cherry Diet Coke. MMmm 😋! Happy reads & happy eats! 😎👌🏻
What to say? It wasn‘t a bad read, but it wasn‘t a great read. If you want something with little story but a sort of moral I suppose this would be good. Even then it‘s a bit of a stretch to say there is a moral. Not really my book or author. There were several points when I wish he would have just got on with it. The switching timeline was ok, but it did get annoying when 3 time lines with 2 happening simultaneously started. I‘ll go so-so.
I really hope I‘m not getting sick. Drank my coffee and ate my cereal and I‘m feeling not so good. Super fun dry cough and dizzy and body ache. I‘m not down with getting sick I have things to do. I‘m going to lay here and try to read for a bit. Hopefully I feel better.
I‘m liking this book so far. My brain doesn‘t want to connect words right now.
Started this one last night. It seems like it‘s going to be kind of interesting. Hope it keeps my interest. #botmcatchup
Disclaimer: listened to the audiobook. Loved this book! A captivating story about human-like robots that move among us undetected and the battle for survival they are enduring. Highly recommended.
Finished this book last night! If you‘re looking for a sci-fi fantasy action novel with bunch of history elements in it (and of course robots) this one is a great pick. The whole book was pretty much all action and it was nice to see the back and forth story from present and past (also short chapters were nice too). The only downside is that June didn‘t have as much development like Peter did. This is Peter‘s story after all. Check it out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really liking this book! Close to the end... not sure if I‘m ready for that :)
Look what I‘m picking up at the library!
🌟3.5
Good book, but the ending was a bit rushed and not many things were explained. #botm

April - June #Booked2018
@4thhouseontheleft @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage
Modern steampunk with a pinch of 18th C Russia. What more could a girl want?
Fun read, though the pacing seemed a bit off and the ending a bit rush. I was actually hoping for more steampunk elements and inventions, but those seemed to be lacking. The historical fiction portion was what kept my attention.
That cover, though. 😍

I gave this 2 hours before bailing. I found the characters flat, and the story confusing and all over the place, and the pacing uneven. Others seemed to love it, so if you're into steampunk and/or alternate histories, definitely worth a shot. Just not for me.
Not a huge fan of how the layout for January turned out, but I‘m excited to continue throughout the year and try out different formats, lettering, and boxes. I also picked up these planner/journaling stickers from the dollar section at Target today, and am looking forward to incorporating these other elements, as well! Really haven‘t been motivated to read much in the latter half of January, but hoping for more motivation in Feb. #bujo #january
Only a third of the way through...but oh what fun! Alternative History were automations walk among us along with alternating chapters set in 18 century Russia about the origin of one. Super fun idea! @24in48 #bookriotreadharderchallenge2018

This is a story about clockwork people, automatons that have lived through the ages and struggle to hide themselves from the human race.
Its kind of like a Vampire story meets Indiana Jones meets the Terminator.
And just look at that cover! 😍

Was at the Big House today to watch the Buckeyes beat TTUN!! 31-20 OSU!
I went into this hesitant because sreampunk is not my thing , but I really enjoyed this. The chapters where you follow the automaton through history I found really interesting. I just thought the book could have been a bit longer as the human character June I didn't think was well developed and it falls a little flat at the end. Love the cover!
A little slow to start, this #steampunk novel is as finely crafted as the mechanical beings at its heart. Find my full review - https://springtimelibrarian.wordpress.com/2017/11/03/the-clockwork-dynasty/
3.5/5 ⭐
This book was alright but the main issue is the pacing of this book. I really enjoy historical fiction but it was even getting a little tedious to me at the end.
There's a lot of focus on a relationship between an automaton brother and sister as well as the main present day characters relationship with her deceased grandpa. I loved getting to visit all the different times and places and cultures. I liked the chapter POV switching too!
Character: "you know what an automaton is? Few know that word."
Me: um...let me introduce you to every YA steampunk book ever written!
A few chapters with a pot of coffee before work! TGIF!
I haven't actually read anything by Daniel Wilson before but this cover 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 the steampunk vibes are too strong!
This was between a pick and a so-so for me. It‘s a pick because I‘ve personally never encountered a book like this before. Clockwork people, alternative history/steampunk-ish, page turning adventure. I liked the history part more than the present day sections. It was a little confusing though, with the 2 points of view in first person. When they were together I had to stop and think about who was narrating. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book was way outside what I normally read. I liked it, the premise is cool, but the changes in time pulled me out of the story quite a bit. I don‘t normally read sci-fi, but that cover 😍 A good book, but not great.
I had to bail on this #botm extra that I picked up a few months ago. I made several attempts to finish it but I just didn‘t care for the writing of characters. Life is too short to waste on bad books! 👎🏻
#FirstPersonNarrator I‘ve just started reading this book and it has 2 points of view both in first person... For Annihilation, you don‘t even know the narrator‘s name yet (I‘m not that far into it) #UncannyOctober
This is between a so-so and a pick. There were parts I was really into it and then other parts I found myself skimming. The back and forth between timelines kept throwing me out of the story, but that's more a me issue since I like more linear stories. The ending I pretty much predicted so that's why it ended up being so-so. Not a bad read, just not amazing.
Came from dragon con this month and wanted a steam punk book. This fills that need. So good already
My October Must Read and most anticipated. I can‘t wait to read these books! If I didn‘t have so many library books, I‘d have already started some of these! #UncannyOctober #Hallowreads
Just finished this one. I love the cover and the story doesn't disappoint. I hope the story continues - there is much more to explore in this world of automatons.
The book I finished on today's flight. Wasn't sure, but ended up totally enjoying it. Love me a book that goes back and forth between present day and historical. #botm
I am loving this book June is a great protagonist and I love the idea of a secret society of automatons.
Attempting to break my reading slump by this fourth-to-last reading challenge book. Also...six days till I turn 30! Excited for some bookish time.
