pickExcellent. Dark, gothic, unique fantasy story about a murderous misanthrope with a gifted sense of smell. I can't think of any other books that are remotely similar to this. 5 stars.

I may write a proper review at some point, but I fear it would itself be the size of a large novel.

Try and persevere through the first 100 pages if you decide to read this. It can be quite confusing with all the nicknames and characters to start with. The rule of thumb is: "if you think that it might be the same person, it probably is." There's a lot of Marya/Masha, Natasha/Natalia etc.
This book is hilarious. Was laughing out loud by chapter 2. #donquixote
