An unforgettable story about autism, sisterhood, and first love thats perfect for fans of Jenny Han, Sophie Kinsella, and Sarah Dessen. New York Times bestselling author of Tell Me Three Things Julie Buxbaum raved: I couldnt put it down. Meet Chloe Mitchell, a popular Los Angeles girl whos decided that her older sister, Ivy, whos on the autism spectrum, could use a boyfriend. Chloe already has someone in mind: Ethan Fields, a sweet, movie-obsessed boy from Ivys special needs class. Chloe would like to ignore Ethans brother, David, but she cantIvy and Ethan arent comfortable going out on their own so Chloe and David have to tag along. Soon Chloe, Ivy, David, and Ethan form a quirky and wholly lovable circle. And as the group bonds over frozen yogurt dates and movie nights, Chloe is forced to confront her own romantic choicesand the realization that its okay to be a different kind of normal.

Chloe wants what's best for her sister Ivy. David wants what's best for his brother Ethan. They work together to play matchmaker for the two, and end up with much more than they'd expected.

I read this for the #BookRiotReadHarderChallenge2019 prompt: a book by or about someone that identifies as neurodiverse (and because @Lovesbooks87 donated it to my classroom library 😁) and I really enjoyed reading it.

Lovesbooks87 I am so glad you enjoyed it, I did too! 5y

This book was so cute. Chloe is in high school and has an older sister Ivy who is on the autism spectrum and she thinks it would be a good idea for her sister to have a boyfriend. When she meets Ethan a boy in Ivy's class she thinks he would be perfect for her. What she doesn't know is that Ethan has a brother and she knows him and he is her least favorite person. The more Chloe and David spend together the more she starts to like him. 👇🏻

Lovesbooks87 Chloe and David get each other. This book also shows that things don't always go the way someone plans. At times this story was absolutely heartbreaking with the way people treated Ethan and Ivy. This is my second book in the #24b4monday readathon! (edited) 6y

This is a cute story. I‘ve been just accidentally picking up books about autism or with autistic characters and it‘s amazing. 4 ⭐️ from me.

This is a super sweet story of sibling bonds and blossoming love. Chloe wants to find her sister Ivy a boyfriend. She chooses Ethan who is in Ivy‘s special needs class at school. What Chloe doesn‘t know is that Ivy has her eye on someone else. 🧩💜 #weneeddiversebooks

APLitlife I love the title! What‘s it about? 7y
CoffeeK8 @APLitlife it‘s very sweet. About a teenage girl who‘s older sister (who has autism) wants to start dating. And how that goes for both of them when the boy she starts dating has a brother who comes along too. 7y

Really enjoyed this quick read about a boy and a girl dealing with the emotional rollercoaster of having autistic siblings. Its about love, friendship, and figuring out who you are and what is important to you.

I related SO very much to Chloe and her sister Ivy. I have a younger sister with intellectual disabilities. She isn't autistic, however they have a lot in common.
It will always be difficult for me to see how some people act around her.

I loved this YA book about a girl who tries to help her older, autistic sister find love, even if it means hanging out with her least favorite guy in her class. There is a lot going on in this book, many issues are touched on from blended families to sexual identity, but at the heart of it all is the deep love for a sibling and the willingness to sacrifice in order to make sure they have the best life possible.

I loved every single second of this.

After seeing how lonely her sister is (who is on the autism spectrum), Chloe makes it her mission to find the perfect match for Ivy. And her choice? Turns out to be the brother of the school jerk.

Neurodiversity. Sexual identity exploration. Really likable characters. I love 😍

This is what our reviewer had to say about #ThingsIShouldHaveKnown by @clairelazebnik, "LaZebnik creates an environment that teachers the reader about the human component of autism and melds it together with more traditional YA issues....Highly recommended to YA readers who love contemporary novels."

I choose YA books quite rarely. I mean, the premise has to be pretty special for me to do it.
But this one just had it.
How can I sum this book up? It brought me all sorts of emotions from the very first page. Very readable, very relatable – even though you might not have quite the life the main character has.

Two YA books I really, really want to read.

The Upside of Unrequited because I have my own history of falling into that trap--you can actually read about it in an essay I wrote called, "A Brief History of Men I May Have Loved (And Who Didn‘t Love—or Even Like—Me Back)," available here: http://bit.ly/2l2v6qO

Things I Should Have Known because I am the sister of the most amazing brother with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This YA novel is off to a strong start. Chloe narrates the story of her attempt to find a boyfriend for her older sister who is autistic. Glad for my dog who is soaking up the sun and hanging out with me while I read.

Happy book birthday to this very wonderful amazing book! This is one of the nest books I've read so far in 2017 and it's just March! Anyway, you won't regret reading this book! It has flawed characters, it will broaden your knowledge about autism, and it has an amazing twist that will make your heart soar! 💕

Just finished this, and I loved it! Claire LaZebnik is one of my favorite authors, and definitely my favorite YA Contemporary Romance authors. I love how realistic, flawed, thought provoking this book is- which deals with romance, natch, but also autism, siblings, relationships and strained family dynamics. #LitsyRecommends #edelweiss

Stayed up too late last night to finish this YA novel in one sitting! It's not your typical teen romance- Chloe is anxious to set her older, autistic sister up with a classmate, Ethan. Of course, things don't go entirely to plan and it's a fast read with some great bantering dialogue.
