So we had our glasses and got to see about 70% of the eclipse here in NYC... was hoping it would have gotten darker but it stayed pretty bright. But it did definitely get cooler and sun was not as strong. Cool experience!

Peddler410 I'm glad you got to experience it with your child. Today was my daughter's first day of school and her district did not prepare for the eclipse. She was very upset and told people she was not happy to go back to school because it was infringing on her opportunity to view the eclipse (edited) 8y

Science! We had a pretty good view of the eclipse right behind our house. Only 86% totality here, but still fun. It stayed fairly bright out. It was a great show of the sun's power.

Melissa_J 86% is pretty good, we only had 68%. I didn't see it because I didn't have the special glasses and couldn't be bothered making a pin hole camera, but I'm enjoying the pics 😊 8y

Daisey It was cloudy here leading up to totality but fascinating to watch the clouds move across. Luckily it did clear up just in time for us to have a perfect viewing! So cool! 8y

@Cathythoughts here's the view through the glasses. It's amazing how bright it still was outside with 8% sun showing!! Someone I work with was in Nebraska and she said it got dark enough to see the stars!

#Eclipse day!!! Eclipse doughnuts, eclipse Arby's, and eclipse glasses! What a great experience! We got to 99.5% totality, so not completely dark, but pretty awesome!🌑

DGRachel I bought glasses that were supposed to be good, but then got an email from Amazon that the seller couldn't verify they were manufactured correctly. By that time it was too late to get new glasses. I kind of care and I kind of don't, so I think I'll be nursing today's migraine from the comfort of my couch. I've got NASA on and I can't stop rolling my eyes at the commentary. I'm a terrible person. 8y

LauraBeth I didn't have any glasses either @Mimi28 and I did go outside for it and my neighbor - who has been my neighbor for almost 11 years and has never said one word to me - ran over to me like a little kid and shared his glasses with me 😀 8y

I have been quiet this weekend because we made the short drive from Charlotte (98% totality) to Greenville (100% totality) to visit friends and hang out in the path of the full solar eclipse today! #eclipse #sciencenerd

Oh my goodness. This has been an exhausting week. I had a huge eclipse program yesterday and 200 people showed up and then we have been getting slammed with phone calls for eclipse glasses which we do not have! I can't wait until after the eclipse lol.

VanChocStrawberry Yes!! Our whole system only had enough glasses for three programs they did, but because of the incorrect reporting, all the branches are getting numerous calls every day! 8y

Indexasaurus I'm soooo tired of the phone calls! Our 2 regionals were the only libraries in our system that got any and they ran out 20 minutes after opening the doors yesterday. 8y

Cortg We aren't handing glasses out until the day of the program and we don't get a lot of people for programs at our branch so it will be interesting to see how many people actually show up. It's like answering constant calls about tax forms. 😞 8y
