Book 18 of the year, audio

This started off really promising and then just went off into romance tropes so hard it was painful.
She hates him completely until one day she realizes that he's in love with her and oh! Now I love him too! Which is cringey enough when characters know each other for 5 weeks. But when they've been magically bound together for 1000 years? Really you never noticed until just now that he's a good guy? Bullshit.

I can‘t tell who the love interest is!!! It‘s driving me crazy!

So I‘m not really able to read the long books that I like because I work all day and come home and work some more on my own business so when I can listen to books I get excited. I love the book so far. I‘m about 8 chapters in listening and o gotta say I love the reader! SK uses him for a lot of her books I think and he is great switching between characters. He actually does a jack sparrow voice quite well! I love it!

Picked up these. My next two books to read. I had started Deadmen Walking a while ago via ebook, was loving it, but never finished it. Going to dive in and finish both books in this series. Can‘t wait for more.

This past week I finished this 11 hour audiobook in three days, while at work.

I don‘t know what more to say about this book other than I loved it! Onto the second book: Death Doesn‘t Bargain!

I‘ve been a long-time Sherrilyn Kenyon fan, though I dropped off after Acheron. The storylines had become a bit too predictable. I was happy to see her take on a new series, and this set up is great fun because PIRATES! Dead pirates, but pirates nonetheless. Some great world building, some mythology I‘m going to need to look up, a good dose of humor, and some romance.

I love Sherrilyn Kenyon and I love a lot of her books. But this was highly anticipated disappointment for me on a non stop train. You start with a character that isn't your main character, we skip entire action scenes, and it only gets worse. I had to stop reading it, which really breaks my heart. 💔

This hurt my heart as she's one of my top three favorites. This book was just incredibly predictable, but worse it was boring. This was supposed to be a Dark Hunter adjacent book, but had zero of the qualities of a Dark Hunter book. I found myself skipping through and once I put it down I had no desire to go back. I won't be reading be the other two. Life's too short and my TBR will outlive me anyway.

I'm sorry guys I love pirate's and the Dark Hunter series but this book sucked. It took all I had to push myself and make myself finish it. The story is kind of intresting but it bounces around to much and nothing grabs you. Plus #pnr is all about the romance and I found the main relationship weak. Don't waste your money or time I really wish U bailed on this.

The premise sounded great & I had high hopes. But I read a little over 3 chapters & I don't like it. I'm bored and the writing is not very good. NEXT!

I wanted to love this book, but sadly the adventure it promised was squashed in favor of a cookie cutter forbidden, revenge filled romance (maybe I've read too many of these!).
I'm a Sherrilyn Kenyon fan, but this missed the mark for me. Too many characters and subplots that get buried by info dumping. I sped read through 1/2 the book. I kept wanting a big redeeming piece for the original adventure promised - but it never happened.

Such a promising start...Pirates plus Kenyon as the story teller - hells ya! There is a twist of who this story is about and it threw me some. Still enjoying but hoping the end wraps up the other subplots.

There were a lot of characters and a lot of new myths and creatures thrown out all at once. It got confusing at times. I didn't really connect with the characters. I do really like the cover. I'm hoping the next book is better.

Maybe you were insane insane. That would at least explain the horror that was life. The travesty of it all

3.5 stars - I'm completely lost in her universe, yet Ms. Kenyon kept me entertained with this rollicking pirate-ish adventure story and I will read the rest of the trilogy as they are published. And oh man, how she likes to torment her characters.

I was really looking forward to this book. While I will say it wasn't a disappointment, it wasn't quite what I hoped. I know that there is a need to introduce everyone, but it seemed like parts of it twisted up and frankly, I was lost a few times. Nevertheless, I will return and hope for a more straightforward story next time.

I have several other books started but I can't resist a new release by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Look how pretty the cover under the dust jacket is!

I just wanted to share how awesome this book is!☠️ I'm really looking forward to reading this. Kenyon has the ability to create amazing worlds and characters but has gotten lazy lately. I'm excited that this is a new series so she can't reuse chapters from other books. Fingers crossed that this isn't just a recycled story from her other series. If there's a pair of twins that hate each other I think I'll officially be done with her. 🤞😏

I feel like I've been waiting years for this! Loving it so far ❤
