92/150 This is the first book I've read by David Gemmell, but it definitely won't be the last. If you're in the mood for a epic fantasy, then this is it, but also there's some deeper thought going on also. What makes a hero? Who decides what is legend and what is truth? Can a hero escape his destiny? It's a rollicking adventure for sure, but deeper than the usual sword & sorcery story. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
Final entry to the trilogy. Science fantasy, beautifully written but I will admit the book seemed to last forever, with twists and turns toward the end. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

Library haul today includes The Dark Lands. Cat approves
Those random days where you wake up at seven o‘clock, only to read till ten.
I found this book in a little library, when I got it I started readying it and immediately I got hooked. I felt like I connected with the characters and I understood what they were going through. The main character, Evie, is lonely and is still stuck on the mysterious death of her little sister, brother, and her parents. She has three jobs and she lives in the attic of her apartment building, and only has a few possessions from her childhood!!
It is all in ruins now but back then, under a younger sun, the city walls were strong and high.
