Really enjoyable paranormal mystery (with some romance too) with a very likable MC!

4.5⭐️ A solid series starter!
Meet Charley Davidson, PI & grim reaper, although you wouldn't know it by looking at her. She sees dead people & helps them cross into the light. Sometimes the dead die in a sketchy way and they want Charley to find out why & bring them justice. This is where her PI skills come in handy. ⤵️
Remember that time I was going to update all January's reads and challenges? Yeah, I haven't finished that. Moving on! 😅
Reread. Witty. Funny. Sarcastic. Sexy. Grim Reaper. Ghosts. Murder. Read it!
Is there really anything more you need to know about this book? 🤣🤣

Ever be in the mood for something specific to read but you aren't exactly sure what that is or if you have it? That's me tonight. After a long, long scouring of the shelves I found an old favourite I haven't resd in years. Thinking it might just hit the spot tonight!!
Please ignore the giant pile of stuffies. I know Pooh Bear is judging me but they belong upstairs and that's just too far right now 🤣

I am not exaggerating when I say Reyes Alexander Farrow has ruined me for all men, and if he wasn‘t so in love with Charlie, I would fight for him. Down and dirty fisticuffs fight for him.
This is easily one of my favorite series. The Grimm Reaper is one of my top ten character and this may be my all time favorite cast.

Got my #bookspinbingo board done & got to color off a square.
This was an incredibly fun, snarky take on a grim reaper. I love Charley‘s sense of humor & her relationship with her friend Cookie. I also found the idea of a grim reaper helping lost souls find peace & pass through her to the other side a fascinating take. I‘ll definitely continue the series.
Thanks @DebinHawaii for your post that pushed me to finally check my library & start this!
My November #bookspin list.
📚This month it‘s back to categories, including a new category for number 9: A book from a previous book spin list. Since I never read all 20 books on my list and change it each month, I thought this would be a fun way to go back and look through those to choose.
🖤Also continuing my Hollows reread.
✨Added a few titles from Halloween swaps and some titles I thought I might feel in the mood for this month.
#Haunted
I think that thirteen books with ‘grave‘ in their title make up a pretty good #graveyard so I am picking the Charley Davidson series for today‘s prompt. It‘s a favorite of mine!🖤👻🦇💀🤍🪦
If you haven‘t read this paranormal series, it would be great for #scarathlon #teamhendrix or #screamathon or really any October #TBR Start with the tagged book.
#LittensDressedInBlood 7 Sep
Don‘t Fear The Reaper - Charley Davidson is the grim reaper in Darynda Jones‘s series. From one of the books:
“Ask me about life after death.” T-shirt often seen on Charley Davidson, a grim reaper with questionable morals
Still playing catch-up!
#ConflictedWorlds
Catching up by combining two prompts & picking Charley Davidson & Reyes Farrow, her #supernatural #lover🖤🖤They have both conflicts & sexy times throughout the 13 books in in this series.❤️
1. I would love to hang out with Charley Davidson, even though she could very possibly get me injured.
2. I think future because I really done want to know what the past smells like.

4/5 for this paranormal mystery! I loved this book. It made me laugh and I was so invested. The twists pulled me in. Charley is a wonderful character full of sarcasm and sass. I will definitely be reading the next book.
And that‘s a wrap on my #doublespin for January! I loved this book and can‘t wait to continue the series - trying not to be slightly daunted as there are 12 more books 😂😳🤷♀️ But seriously, I didn‘t know I needed to read this until I read it ♥️😁
@TheAromaofBooks
I‘m a little surprised it took me so long to start this series. Charlie is a PI, assists her police detective uncle, and helps the dead to the other side as the grim reaper. Her life is a bit chaotic.
I enjoyed this. It does remind me a lot of the Stephanie Plum series and I don‘t think that is just due to Lorelei King‘s narration. I will pick up the next one when I want something light and fun. #Screamathon #BookspinBingo
@Jas16 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This was such a nice surprise! Would you believe I‘ve had this book on hold at the library for-EVER? I‘m so excited to have my own copy and to read it finally! Thank you - I‘ll write back soon 😁❤️ You are the sweetest 😍
A smart-alec grim reaper/P.I., 3 murdered attorneys, ghosts, a big bad, a fabulous BFF named Cookie, and a red jeep named Misery.
This is one of my all-time favorite series. #scarathlon and #screamthon seemed a perfect time to do a reread. #teamharkness book 20
Book 10 for #outstandingOctober
#top20series #20series20days Day 7
Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones
The grim reaper is a PI named Charley Davidson, who drives a red Jeep named Misery. She‘s also named her breasts (Danger & Will Robinson) & her ovaries (Beam Me Up & Scotty). Her best friend is Cookie Kowalski.
A super fun series with fun chapter sayings, like “Genius has its limitations. Insanity . . . not so much.”
The awesome Lorelei King narrates the audiobooks.
Everyone already knows I'm such a massive fan of this series so it's no surprise it's one of my #Top20Series
I have never gone back and done a reread of this now that the series is complete....might be about time for a binge 🤔
#20Series20Days @Andrew65
Spending so much time with the heating pad gave me time to finish up this book tonight. I totally enjoyed it and I‘m not really into paranormal stuff that much anymore. However, I really liked Charley and want to read the next one sometime soon. #jubilantjuly book 3 @Andrew65
⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Romanceopoly sun challenge "Sleuth Street" mystery where title has any words associated with death
Great start to the series! This book was good and now I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner. I call it a urban paranormal book with a touch of romance. Charlotte Davidson, aka Charley, is a PI who happens to see dead people and talk to them. You can do that when you are the grim reaper. It sure makes the job easier if you can ask the ghost who killed them! No spoilers so read to.find out how she solves the latest murder. 4⭐
Got two more books added to my May list.
I am becoming a bookworm 🐛
I ordered off the Bookshop LLC.

1. Charley Davidson & Cookie Kowalski from the tagged 💜
2. Steve McHugh
3. Toss up between Paradise Lost and The Canterbury Tales
1. Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series (tagged the first book). I'm almost done, just have 2 left to go.
2. In the third grade, I read 400 books for our class reading challenge. I don't think I've gotten anywhere near that since. Lol
3. Either Max or Rhys from Elizabeth Hunter's Irin Chronicles.

#FriyayIntro on Saturday!
1. While I like HP, it‘s not my fave. There are a few other series I‘d put before it. The Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones (Book 1 tagged) is one of them.
2. Right now, The Good Place
3. Not on purpose
4. I have no food plans although it is crab fest in Port Angeles this weekend. 🤔
5. Yes.
#ScreamathonPhotoChallenge #Graveyard @4thhouseontheleft I actually got this on my birthday a few years back, I need to read it.
While this book has a similar feel to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (one of my fluffier pleasures), I was dismayed by the violent portrayal of a sexual relationship. Aspects of the way it was written clearly qualify as sexual assault and rape, even though other interchanges are consensual. I might have been interested in continuing the series for character development and humor. I won't now.

1. There‘s so many I love, I can‘t pick one fave—Charley Davidson, The Others, Sookie, Kate Daniels, Mercy Thompson, Fitz...
2. mustard - I can‘t get past the yellow color 🤢
3. No
4. 2 half sibs, both significantly older than I, so I really consider myself an only

1. Tagged. Plus each chapter starts with a funny quote/saying from a t-shirt or bumper sticker or similar. ☝🏻
2. Week 1 of #BFC is done! The response and all the encouragement has been so motivating and heartwarming. 💪🏻💜

Read after it was mentioned on #getbooked a @bookriot podcast (I think?). It was fun and the performer was great!
I forgot to turn my timer on for some of this one, but I think only for 15 or 20 minutes, so I'm not gonna worry about it. It took me nearly a month to finish this book, and I have no idea why. It was cute, but I've just not been in a good reading place lately I think. Anyway, getting a slow start on #24B4Monday.
@TheReadingMermaid
@Andrew65
I'm a bit late, but I've decided to attempt the #24B4Monday this weekend. First I need to finish up the tagged book that I've been reading for almost a month. I know I won't get to all of these, but I'm hoping to finish at least 2 or 3 this weekend.
@Andrew65
@TheReadingMermaid
I definitely really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of a mix between Stephanie Plum and Sookie Stackhouse. I really liked the paranormal story and it was different than others in this genre. It was just a really fun book to read. I definitely think I‘m going to continue with this series.
