Neil Gaiman is one of my #FavoriteMaleAuthors. My reread of Sandman has fallen by the wayside lately, but I‘m hoping to pick it up again next month. #MarchMagic @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
The Sandman ball is coming up. I thought this would be for me:) Delirium dreams💛
Bk1 of #Scarathlon2022 & #20in4 #readathon is done! Loved this full cast recording of a comp of Sandman GN inc: The Song Of Orpheus, Brief Lives & Worlds End. Brilliant stories told by a brilliant actors. 5⭐️ #WordSearch #LittenListenBingo #AutumnAtoZ #31x31 #Spookaween #Pointsathon #AutumnBingo #JustALittleSpookish #StabbyBingo #NoShameReadathon #OctoberReadathon #Thrillathon #TheHauntingOfReadersHouse #BooktrovertBingo 👇 #TeamSlaughter 2,381pts
Watching some cats and a buzzard/vulture (voiced by Neil Gaiman himself because of course he did).
@TheBookDream -- is this the sequel to night of a thousand cats? It even has a guy who collected an organ made of hair. He just needs a helicopter.
Did Neil Gaiman watch our truck stop movie?! 🤣
I want to read these before I watch the show, so I'm alternating between Book of Night and the comics.
Hour 17. Normally, my #deweys24hourreadathon has ended by now (I have Bipolar Disorder, and sleep is essential to my remission), but I discussed it with my doctor and got the go-ahead to try to reading all night. There are some rules, like no caffeine or sugar, and I have to focus on reading - no multitasking. Luckily, "The Sandman: Act II" is taking up all my attention.
#deweysreadathon
Hour 13 of #deweys24hourreadathon and I'm starting the Audible performance of The Sandman Act II. I won't finish it by 8am, but that's okay. I think it's the perfect story to listen to overnight. 😁
Another extraordinary audio production of The Sandman. Act II is just as wonderful as Act I with the vocal company, led by James McAvoy as Morpheus and Neil Gaiman himself narrating, performing brilliantly. If you are a fan of this series and haven‘t given these productions a listen, you may want to give it a go.
My response to the end of the audiobook saying 'audible hopes you have enjoyed this program' was "I enjoyed it. It terrified me, but I enjoyed it."
And that is my review. ?
It got very dark for me at a certain point or two, but it's a very enjoyable book and I am excited for act 2
Here's my October TBR List for #screamathon @4thhouseontheleft
Made up of audio books, a few books from my shelf, and the rest are all available at my local library!
It's a longer list than I meant to have, but there are so many books I'm excited to read 😊
(I was going to add Sandman to this list, but I'll be finishing it up tomorrow or the day after.)
1) A rock‘n‘roll drummer! 🤘🏻
2) Snooze once or twice, but my dogs won‘t let it go past that 😂
3) Breaking up is hard, keeping dark is hateful (Bowie song lyrics 👩🏻🎤)
4) Mauve
@NikkiM5 you‘re turn!
#wonderouswednesday @Eggs
It's gone midnight and the rest of the family has called it a night. Just me now, working my way through Sandman and enjoying a glass of Brains Black with ambient jazz in the background. Perfect.

I have not read any of the Sandman comics but was very interested to listen to the first installment of the audio adaptation. This was amazing! It is fantasy/horror so there are some fairly creepy bits - enhanced by the music and sound effects. The cast is brilliant, especially James McAvoy as the central character. Looking forward to the next one now 😊
I‘m re-reading the Sandman comics and listening to the audio drama that came out a couple weeks ago (a long, star-studded cast including Neil himself 😉). It‘s actually a great way to do it as the audio provides some insight that you might miss just from reading the comics— though are a couple places where the voice enhancement is a bit extreme so it helps to have the print on hand! 🎧

Wow...this is possibly the best audiobook that I have ever heard. The cast is absolutely fantastic. I've been a Sandman fan for a long time, and they have truly brought this to life. I couldn't dream of a better version. (Sorry, I couldn't help myself there.) It was really enjoyable to read along in the graphic novels while listening. I hope that this trend continues. I have several favorite comics that would be incredible as audiobooks.
If you are a fan of this comic series, the Audible production is a must-listen. It‘s extraordinarily well done and covers the first 20 comics, each with its own episode. So many great voice performances. It‘s amazing! Of course if Gaiman isn‘t your thing, skip it. Warning: for mature audiences only (LSV).
November #AuthorAMonth is Neil Gaiman. Are you ready?
I first heard about him through comics- specifically Sandman. My fave I‘ve read by him is Neverwhere.
What Gaiman books are you excited for this month?
My fiancé bought us a Funko of Death for my shelf on thanatology.

And finally, the #readathon plans for the adults of the household. Standing on the left, my stack (although I am also contemplating several books on my kindle, and I have a backup stack 3ft high 😅). The Calvino and the two Mievilles are my partner's TBR. The graphic novels in front are for both of us. I'm so excited! 😀📚

Puzzling while watching Lucifer, an adaptation from the character Lucifer Morningstar in The Sandman. Loved The Sandman. So far, I‘m really enjoying Lucifer.

2. I always knew I had it good as the only.
3. 2 - okay, I was raised an only child, found out at age 11 that I had an older brother (from Mom, teen pregnancy) and at 30 that I had an older sister (from Dad while overseas in the army).
4. The Endless from Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics
5. It took a bit, but I found an only.

So happy to hear Neil Gaiman and John Cameron Mitchell tonight ♥️ plus two bonuses - a surprise screening of How To talk to Girls at Parties, based on the short story and signed copies of Sandman! Definitely one of my top 10 days ever ⭐
#QuotsyMarch18 Day 15: Not really sure which novel this Neil Gaiman quote is extracted from but it does have #Rain, heartbreak, longing, and pensive moments marked by regret. And yes, taxi.
Day 8 of #heartsandhardcovers is #dreams which is fitting quite well to my current Sandman reads- where the Master of Dreams himself appears! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

A short story collection from various authors (alot of great ones actually) taking place in Neil Gaiman's Sandman world.
🤘🤘
I woke up and my Sandman issue 1 had been returned. Now it's all sealed up and in an official CGC slab with a beautiful 9.0 grade on it.
I just wanted to share cuz it's my first officially graded comic and I'm all excited. Sandman might not be worth a lot of money or anything...but it's my favorite comic series and I wanted to have this issue all fancy and stuffs. 🤗🙌🤗
