The great romance novels make me laugh and cry all in the same book. The best romance novels do all this while also addressing historical or contemporary issues.

This one was rough. There was a lot of depressing stuff right from the beginning to pretty close to the end. It was a tough read, but I'm hoping the others in the series won't be quite so bleak.

Since my last reads of 2018 were a tad disappointing I decided to start the year by staying in bed with a book I knew I would enjoy. While this was not my favorite Courtney Milan book by far it was still a sweet #romantsy with a strong and capable heroine and a not so typical hero. I have already read and loved the second book in this series and book three is slated to come out this year. 2019 has started on the right note.
I was recommended this on Twitter and I‘m glad it was available. This was exactly what I was looking for. The pacing was fast, the characters were likable and their chemistry was great. Excellent romance. Loved Judith and I‘m excited for more.
It was frickin cold today, so I stopped off and had a free cappuccino while I read some more of ONCE UPON A MARQUESS.
This historical romance was set in the mid 1800‘s around the time of the Opium Wars. The Worth family has been thrown out of the aristocracy and into genteel poverty. This is a second chance #romantsy with some very interesting characters and banter. I consider this a diverse read as at least two of the characters are not neurotypical.
1. Tank and Daisy sleeping in.
2. I'm not sure when I joined litsy, I joined before it was available for android because I had it on my ipod touch.
3. Denver omlette? I'm not sure it's available outside of Colorado.
4. 5:56am
5. Love and Summer by William Trevor us on the top of the stack. #humpdaypost @mindea
Time for some romance! Since it's Courtney Milan, my hopes are high. I loved The Brothers Sinisters series!
Picked this up from Audible Romance subscription! I ❤️ Courtney Milan! She always manages to turn period romance on its head in some way. This one checks all the boxes of a great romance. Smart heroine, check. Witty banter, check. Considerate but conflicted hero, check. Rosalyn Landor narrating, check. #periodromance #romanticcomedy #glorytotheguild #audiobook
I bought so many used novels in April that I decided to skip a month for my new book buying project. Consequently, my bookish spending tally looks a lot more familiar than the $30+ amounts I logged earlier this year.
On the downside, I've barely made a dint in any of these hauls. Here's hoping I can check a few of them off this month.
I am very much enjoying how totally weird both the heroine and the hero are in this book. #Romantsy
This one want as good as the other Milan book I read, but only because it was more about two people that a romance, I thought. Plot was good, story was good, but not what I expected (which doesn't mean it's a bad book, just my issue with it). I would have like s bit now sex. 😂😂😂
When I think of #dressesoncovers, I think romance. I went to my favorite romance author's website to look for a good cover to highlight, and got super excited to see that she has covers for all the planned books in her current historical series, though only two are out. 😍 I knew she had this plotted out to be a diverse series as the story expands, but I hadn't seen the full beautiful vision yet. I can't freaking wait. #readjanuary #romantsy
Most anticipated reads of 2017:
I'm super excited about the next books in Courtney Milan's two current series, The Worth Saga and The Cyclone Series. I can't wait to find out what happens to Judith's missing sister, and to see how Blake and Tina's relationship fares with new family drama.
Milan is notorious for not holding to her release dates, so she doesn't set exact ones anymore. These are both slated for 2017 though. #seasonsreadings2016
this was a quick & fairly fun read, however I figured out what was happening early on & felt like it took way too long for anything to really start happening. however, I will likely contiue on with the series as I have enjoyed most other book by Milan & the next book looks promising 🌟🌟🌟
First book in Milan's most recent historical series. You can always expect her to bring something different to the table and our heroine's father and brother being found guilty of treason is certainly that. Recommended.
"Damn you, knowledge!" Ruining everything good, once again. Learning things is most inconvenient."
You had to be careful of Christian. If you weren't, he'd have you playing his dubious Liverpudlian swan lover before you knew what he'd done.
