The cover and synopsis had me starry eyed, but I feel like it fell short. I had such high hopes for it. I liked the characters and the story line, I just felt like there wasn't . I feel like it was written well enough, maybe it's just me being selfish and wanting more. I'll gladly read the sequel, but it's not the heart throb I expected it to be.
I did it! I finally finished The Shadow of the Wind. It was my "car read," a book that lives in my car and I basically only read while I wait for school to let out. Lots of Kindle books were read in the meanwhile, but man! I enjoyed it, but I will be making sure I choose shorter books for the car in the future lol
Because what else do you do when you have to get to your child's school 50 minutes early to get a decent parking spot?
Although I can't imagine this is part of fulfilling my Personal Legend...
One of my favorite series, and this latest book did not disappoint. I remember the last book (Murder on Cold Street) didn't pull me in as quickly as the others, and I was worried the author may be losing steam, but this latest story pulled me in right away so I am very glad that is not the case! Love the humor sprinkled in.
Our book club book of the month, Pumpkin Everything was light and cheery and the perfect read for a busy month. As far as my normal reading, this would be a so-so since it had almost no conflict. But it's a like for book club, it was well written and not nearly as cheesy as I was expecting, a cute read.
Photo of our 2nd annual "Booksgiving Feast," I had lots of fun putting this charcuterie board together!
The next few days are going to be nonstop going for me, so I'm taking my last chance to relax and enjoying every moment (and bite 🤣).
I was sure I wouldn't like it, I didn't think the structure was something I could get on board with, but I quickly realized I was wrong. Quick bursts of thoughts, sometimes random to each other but never random to the overall story. Loved it!
Beautifully heartbreaking. Well written, although the time hops for the main character were a little confusing. I had to flip back a few times to keep the timeline straight in my head, but I don't feel it was bad enough to deter someone from continuing to read.
"She marveled at the magic of it all, how human beings had thought to etch markings on Stone to tell their stories, sensed each lifetime too grand, too interesting, not to document."

Trying to get some reading in while visiting the in-laws. Lovely little community, I could easily get used to this lifestyle! (And if you look closely, you'll see our duck friend who was hoping to use the pool, too. 🤣)
I made these #Tinkerbell bookmarks as part of the favors for a baby shower I'm co-hosting. I love getting to have extra fun with our book club ladies!
I love the idea of monthly #bookspinbingo, but I know I won't be able to read as much as I would like, or keep up with new lists monthly if I'm not going through books quickly enough. I decided to adjust it to fit my needs, and will try to read the #bookspin and maybe even the #doublespin every month and aim for bingo by the end of the year. If a number comes up again and I've already read that choice, I'll choose a square to help get me to bingo!
This month, our bookclub is celebrating one of our members with a Peter Pan baby shower and this Twisted Tale. I thought I'd spend the morning with homemade banana muffins, chai, and some reading. April Fools to me, my four year old was only patient enough to let me bake the muffins, no reading allowed. Joke's on her though, I'll be putting her to bed early now. 😂

I ordered new lamps for my nightstands, but they were smaller than I pictured in my head. No worries, my TBR stack has come to the rescue!

This is the second time in a short period that a book has reminded me of the eagerness to fill blank pages.
It was all out there—the mystery, the beauty; beyond her ability to see now, but there just the same. It was simply a matter of timing and perspective, what one saw.
