Snowed in, so picked up this book that has been on my to-read list for some time. First time reading this author too. So far so good!

Wow. This book has me hooked. It is not perfect, but there is so much to learn from here, that I can‘t recommend it enough.

Just as I‘m rereading a favorite from Lisa Kleypas, I see that she and Beverly Jenkins at the Strand next month! **happy dances** It‘s $15. #BestOfRomance

They say to not use too many flashbacks in a book. This is an example of an author breaking the rules and making it work. This book, about Wall St in the 1980s, is one giant flashback. And it's amazing! The writing is superb!

I read the books late in my life and have absolutely fallen in love with the prose and characters, both with a flair of the dramatic.

Loving this book! Just started it. And to think that the author worked on Wall Street for all these years and then wrote this gorgeous book... so impressed! He deserves the credit.

By the pyramid a couple of weeks ago (At the Louvre Museum). And talking about Pyramids... This book is an exceptional historical/ cozy mystery

In the late 19th century, Amelia Peabody a pragmatic, no-nonsense spinster (in her 30s) and a friend set out to explore Egypt. As they travel along the Neil, they encounter two archeologists and end up fighting off old enemies, locals and mummies! Many LOL moments! A small romance arc always a plus.

Enjoyed an afternoon tea yesterday at Garfunkel's in the East Village. It reminded me of my all time favorite LK novel, Tempt me at Twilight, so I started re-reading it this morning. Yep, just needed an excuse :)
LK's historical romance books and series are a lot of fun. Gorgeous prose with a sensuality that I have not encountered in any other book.

An outdoor goods store in Memphis! (No, not Vegas). I asked a business associate there if he's heard of the novel The Firm and he replied, "not only have I heard of it, I was also in the film! For one second. My one second of fame." Lol

Look what I found in a London pub! Was Cormoran Strike here? :) Silly but made my day!

Loved Alafair's voice. A forty-something lawyer finds herself defending her ex boyfriend for murder. He had been nice to her while she was harsh and unfair. She can't believe he is guilty. Cool twists and turns but what made it most enjoyable was the main character, who was just that. A character :)

Loved the cranky old man, who despite all appearances, has a heart of gold. Loved the secondary characters too, especially Parvana.

Multi-tasking... 😅 Great book for writers. One can never have enough conflict and suspense!

Interesting perspective on plotting. Every writer can channel her energy to connect with her inner aura... 🤔🤔🤔 let's see if that will work 😂

Fun historical romance! Not your typical boilerplate formula which made it all the more enjoyable. A smart, funny and kind heroine that was able to melt the beast's heart. Loved the end too. 💞

Wow! Amazing story so far. I love the heart felt sympathy to this old man this writer is making me feel. Despite his flaws, he is a jewel. Only 1/3 in, so far I'm really enjoying it!

A solid suspense story involving a former hotshot Wall St trader who just got out of prison and is hired to investigate a fraud within a big firm. It takes one to know one :) But as he juggles to keep the new job while caring for his five year old son, things start to fall apart. Must read!

This book was insane! A physics professors gets abducted and wakes up in a different life where his family is gone and he is a world renowned scientist. His quest for a way back to his family is an ordeal and you turn the pages to see if he will make it through. The scientific parts were excellent. It reminded me of the amazing "The First Fifteen lives of Harry August" by Claire North. Worth the hype!

Wonderful book about character building. It is inspired by Joseph Campbell's book, Hero with a thousand faces, that is exploring mythology, but Vogler uses these references explicitly as tools for writers.
P.S. The cover looks like the map from Westworld 😋🤔

I really enjoyed Lyndsay Fae's beautiful, elaborate prose and believable characters. The story is about New York City's 19th century, newly established police force, and in particular a young agent who tries to solve a serial murder case. Great historical elements. My only caveat with this author is that her stories are character driven, very literary, so pacing at times slows down notably, especially in her new book, Jane Steele.

Complete page turner! Easy 4 stars! But way too gruesome. Found myself skipping some scenes... because once you "see" you can't "unsee"...

Thorough exploration of heroes in mythology and religions through a psychological lens. Excellent reading for character development.

I wish the first half of the book wasn't bogged down in so many details about salaries, perks and backstories. I was almost about to give up when everything started unrolling... and it was beautiful... kept you on your feet and out of breath.

Given this is one of Grisham's first novels, I am willing to set aside stock characters and over the top scenarios for a well-plotted, original legal story.
P.S. Does this man look like Christian Bale?

This was KMM's best work, did not lag in the middle or end at a very inopportune moment like prior books.
I felt: Despair, Grief, Surprise, Laughter and Closure
It has been wonderful to see Mac's journey. Barrons (alpha-generated-from-being-unbreakable) has gotten in my list of top ten male characters but still far from Dan Calebow, Roarke, and Cam Rohan, all part of series :)

The fourth book is action-packed, heart breaking and darker than ever. Mac finally grows up, and Barrons finally comes to shine. The end was utterly cruel and if the next book wasn't already published, I'm not sure I could have handled it. Did anyone have to wait long for the next installment?
