I am on a Stephen King kick!
I am on a Stephen King kick!
I was so excited when I checked my mail this morning! Thank you so much for the birthday package @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego
I am always thankful for your letters and your thoughtful gifts! I can‘t wait to get started on this book and enjoy some chocolate 😁☺️
I‘ve been listening to this on my library app while at work. It had a slow start with a lot of different characters to keep track of and I almost wanted to bail. After four or so hours in, things are finally set in motion and I am enjoying the story now quite a bit, where I‘m halfway through now. What happens to the women when they fall asleep in the book reminds me a lot of what happens when people fell asleep in The Invasion.
I grew up watching this movie and loving it but like the very legitimate cliche, the book was better. There was so much more going on that the movie didn‘t touch on and while maybe some parts were a little slow, I almost didn‘t want the book to be finished. I finished listening to The Shining last week on my library app and I only wish I had read this sooner.
I liked the idea of this book but as I listened to it at work I just found myself rolling my eyes, over and over again and being impatient. I think I would have enjoyed this book much more if the modern character‘s timeline had been omitted and it just stayed set into the late 1700s switching between the other two female characters.
I‘m a huge fantasy nerd so I loved this one just as much, and was able to read through it much faster than the first. It‘s helped keep me afloat the last several days so I‘m very thankful that there are two more 800 page books left in the series.
I hated reading this. I appreciate her openness and honesty with her struggles with mental health, but I found myself mostly agitated, resentful and irritated with her. I finished the book only out of stubbornness but I really would not recommend this to anyone who might be on the edge with their mental health. It‘s set me off into a very severe depression cycle.
When I was visiting my sister in Fairbanks they were in the process of moving the bus to the museum and we were able to catch a glimpse of it from the side of the road. I enjoyed the book and the romanticism of his ideals of nature but am glad the bus has been moved to help reduce the number of deaths and rescues of people trying to recreate his experience.
After lugging this around from move to move for the last ten years I finally have sat down and read it! It took me some time to get into it, I thought it began a little slow and I didn‘t immediately like the main character. I quickly changed my mind, and this had almost everything I love about a classic fantasy novel. Looking forward to finishing the series!
Nice haul from my local used book store! I‘m not supposed to be buying more books but I couldn‘t resist.
This has been a really rough year for me, and it didn‘t really come as a surprise when I went to the doctor yesterday and found out my breathing trouble was caused by covid. I‘m actually sort of surprised it took this long to get it because I get sick very easily. In any case, my bed rest yesterday allowed me to completely finish this book and it was exactly what I needed to read and take to heart.
I‘ve finally started on my bookshelves! Planning to tackle all the random finds I‘ve picked up over the years. I hope to donate as I read so I can make more space.
Another BOTM my sister picked out, I did thoroughly enjoy. Knowing someone personally who has gone through the trauma of becoming paralyzed in an accident, it sat with me heavy. This was an inspiring book to me, of facing our futures head on with what we have and finding the moments that help make things worth doing.
I initially thought it had a slow start, and since my sister said it was her favorite BOTM I was determined to not like it, lol! I was however quickly sucked in and couldn‘t put this down so I definitely enjoyed it.
I am late posting but thank you so much @Maman929 for your holiday recipes! I am looking forward to doing some cozy cooking ☺️

I love food and I‘m excited to share some of my favorites I make, and looking forward to try something new! 🎄🍹🎉
Over half way through this and I‘m loving it so far. I still have many many questions running through my mind but hopefully some will get answered!
@StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Thank you so much for sending me this book! #litsypenpals are the best! That was very thoughtful and I‘m looking forward to reading it!
I have the most thoughtful pen pal! Thank you @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego !! I am terribly behind in my replies to you but I received your letters and post cards and now I get to celebrate my birthday again 😄 I plan to catch up my writing this weekend! #LitsyPenPals
I forgot to take a picture when I finished this book last week. I really wanted to give it a pick, and honestly, if I had read it at any other time in my life, I probably would have enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the person who recommended the book to me broke my heart a couple weeks ago. They said it was their favorite book in the world, so all I could do was picture him as the main character. My view was skewed from the start.
I started this Sunday night right before bed and it ended up being a fast read for me. I really enjoyed reading this, I only wish I had read it years ago.
Thank you Danielle! Your Galentine's valentine was a delight to open today! Perfect timing for my sweet tooth 😄 Looking forward to your letter too!

Looking forward to my next read! My sister and I are no longer doing The Book of the Month club due to financial circumstances, but I hope we can rejoin soon! Now I must catch up on all the months I got behind!
For this year my goal is finish a book each month, and hopefully that number will grow as the year progresses! I am determined to not let my depression get in the way of my love of books.
I am very late posting this, but I was so excited to receive my Christmas box from my Litsy pen pal @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego ! This was such a wonderful gift and surprise! I want you to know that yours is on its way in the mail, and I am deeply sorry for it not arriving before Christmas! Thank you again so much!
When I was younger I was an avid reader, spending every spare second I could peering into countless novels. Over the years depression and exhaustion took hold and I read less and less. Last year I didn't read a single book. I know that we are at the end of April but I want this year to be different. Already I've read one book, so now I start my second, with hope. 🌸
After a very long break from reading, I wonder why I ever stopped? I started this book last night and I am about half way through. I am hooked. This is interesting and unsettling. The ratio of questions to answers draws me in as well as makes me uncomfortable. #dystopia
Getting ready to FINALLY start this book! I discovered this one courtesy of Book of the Month Club's November choice and I'm looking forward to hopefully an interesting read.
