#roll100 @PuddleJumper this read really encouraged me to take my walks more often.
Adrianne has resurrected or rezoned ninety six times. She is now equipped with a new VI that knows her every thought and feeling. Her officer wants to use her to aid in the war between machine and humanity.
This was interesting take as to how AI could help or hurt us in the future. I would recommend this to those who enjoy action in their science fiction with little to no romance.
The was my first Scarlett St. Clair read. It was spicy with a capital S. There were a few places that the plot seemed rushed or had no point, but the characters were so interesting that it overshadowed the short comings. I read this as a Fabled smut book club book of the month. I would recommend this to anyone interested in spicy fantasy.
This was a funny story of love, life, and death.
This debut is about a rogue police officer that goes back to her hometown to help her brother on a few mysterious deaths. The details are wonderfully written. The characters are so real. Looking forward to more by this author.
I feel as though a lot of people are not giving this read the time it needs to get going. It is a very slow burn, but beautifully written. You really get to know the main character. #bookspin #tob @TheAromaofBooks
I‘m surprised that I have not read anything by Gaylin. This was definitely a page turner. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
I can‘t believe that I have not read this until now! It was funny and sad all at the same time. #roll100 @PuddleJumper
I have been meaning to read more John Grisham. This is a great will they get away with it read. My only #roll100 finished. @PuddleJumper
A tale on the movie industry during WWII. It was witty, but I did not like the plot.
This read was really slow getting to the point at first. What kept me going was the humor. #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
I can see why Barnes and Noble named this the book of the year for 2022. The cover is deceiving, because it makes you think of a romantic comedy. Once you delve into the first 10 chapters you realize that it is so much more. It is a woman revolution set in the 1960s.
This read is about a road trip between sisters looking for their mother who had disappeared 5 years ago. It was slow in parts, and somethings seemed a little disconnected. This could have used a little a bit more editing, but it was an interesting idea. Thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this read.
I read this in prep for Tournament of Books and as my bookspin. It is a dystopian horror story of trans characters hunting feral men and harvesting their organs. It was very disturbing and raw. The author definitely did not hold back. #bookspin #tournamentofbooks @thearomaofbooks
This was a great read on a lady having to deal with a childhood trauma so close to her wedding.
This is a tale of a college acquaintance telling a story about how he saved someone‘s life and what happened after.
This was an ok story about a lady that is institutionalized after trying to kill her husband for not leaving her.
My January #bookspin list. I have so many book challenges/games this year. I do Litwits and Reading Ravelry on FB. I am also going to try to read more award lists. I am also going to try to get my backlog of NetGalley and BOTM reads down. @TheAromaofBooks
I liked the idea of seeing how we would treat each other if we were a different race, but could not connect to the plot.
This read threw me for a loop. At first I thought that I had read it or something very similar before. Then the plot went in a direction that I was not expecting.
Dave Eggers‘s writing is so realistic that it took me 6 months to digest and finish this book of how technology is running our lives. This is the second in The Circle series.
Amy Tintera's The Q is a timely story about a disease getting out of control and requiring the quarantining of large part of Texas. Government has broken down and the Q is divided into sectors. When a U.S. Senator's prodigal son is illegally dropped into the Q after being kidnapped, readers are taken on a thrill ride through the territories to return him to the outside world. Along the way we get a good mixture of gun fights and romance.
3.5stars. It‘s an interesting lesbian space opera. It was a little out of my wheelhouse. I needed the change from dystopian. It includes the owner of a bar that caters to criminals and an ex- marine and a head assassin. Liked the detail to action.
He was a funny man.
This was an interesting story about a family traveling across country. The father is looking for sounds of the Apaches. The mother is looking for information on refugee children from Mexico. The kids are there for the ride since it is summer. It was slow at first, but it became interesting as there was explanation of the contents of the boxes that they had.
This is a reverse Groundhog Day, time travel mystery. A mom has to figure out why her son has committed by going back in time. Very interesting.
This is a great start to a new to me series.
