Stephen King says it all ^ (as per usual).
So disappointed by the ending of this book. It started off with so much momentum, but in the end, it just fell completely flat.

On the tail end of this book--- and sad to see it go. SO good.
Exquisite. Really loved the sauntering, full prose that built this novel. I now miss Maine like crazy.
LOVING THIS BOOK. Finding it especially relevant now, as the world turns upside down.
This book blew my mind, rocked my world, etc. what in hell just happened? I don't know, but I'm really pleased!
Loving every second of this beautiful, bizarre book.
Murakami, I'm coming for you.
So awesome! Made me fear for the future though.
I feel like this book didn't really getting moving until it was about half way over. Probably would have bailed on it after the first couple of chapters if it hadn't been an audiobook.
Such a great listen! So sad I'm nearly done.
❤❤❤
Hunger as a gift... had never thought of it in this way, but it makes sense. Hunger drives us to ambition in a way.
Started listening to this yesterday, and I'm blowing through it! Highly recommend for a quick read on your holiday flight home. #scrappylittlenobody
Reading about rape is always difficult, and I imagine it's difficult to write about. I don't regret finishing this book, but it became really mentally distressing to live inside of Eden's head. Perhaps this means Smith did a good job because it gave me an accurate perception of how trauma can alter your thinking, but I still wouldn't pick it up again.
So thought-provoking, eloquent, brilliant, and shattering. Definitely one of the most perspective-altering books I've read this year. I listened to this one on audiobook, but I highly recommend getting a hard copy. There's just too much gorgeous treachery in this book to not highlight, highlight, highlight.
Fantastic. The end was surprising and a nice twist on the classic "who done it" Plus our main character was hilarious, real, and relatable.
Love the idea of telling a mystery backwards, but the plot gets a little slow in the middle, and near the end it was predictable. This might just be my fault though for having read a few too many "who done it" novels this year. The writing was beautiful in many parts though, so I definitely don't regret the read.
When you realize man could pervert even the devil . . .
