We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman John Lewis. He did so much for our country and will be sorely missed. If you‘d like to learn more about his life, his work, and his legacy, we‘d recommend reading his powerful graphic novel memoir series MARCH.

EclecticReaders “Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Do not become bitter or hostile. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. We will find a way to make a way out of no way.” 4y

Halfway point! Tell us, which character are you inviting for brunch this fine weekend?

#EclecticReadathon #EclecticReaders

jmtrivera The book I just finished was nonfiction, so I'm going with Jasmine Guillory's Wedding Date series I recently finished for this question. My favorite character in that series is Carlos, so he's definitely invited, but I'd also want Courtney to come, and Alexa and Olivia and Max! It'd be one big brunch party! 4y
EclecticReaders @jmtrivera That would be an amazing brunch. And the food would be great too! 4y
NAM99 I‘m only just getting to know Jay from On the Come Up but I can already tell, she has a story that needs to be told 4y

EclecticReaders @NAM99 Brunches are the perfect time for storytelling! 4y
SusanOrnelas65 I'm reading 2 books so I would invite Hannah from The Guest List because I hate when someone picks on someone else and the guy (her husband) doesn't come to her defense. The next book I'm reading is Beach Read and I think I would invite January. She hasn't done anything yet to annoy me. Her neighbor is so far a grumpy man but we'll see how I feel as I progress in the book :) 4y

While we‘re all stuck inside due to the pandemic, what book (or books) would you recommend your fellow readers pick up? Leave a comment, and we may give you a shoutout on the next podcast episode! #EclecticQuestion #EclecticReaders

rjsthumbelina Elves in a school setting, learning how to do various forms of magic, main character trying to figure out why she is so different (she was raised by humans), great mystery running through the book, brilliant magical creatures, and lots of different humanoid species (elves, the humans, ogres, goblins, trolls, etc). Like Harry Potter levels of good! 5y
BookmarkTavern
I‘ve been recommending The Martian by Andy Weir as the ultimate social distancing read. Watney is as isolated as is humanly possible, but the book shows how strong a human can be in such awful circumstances and the importance of communication and connection, even remotely.
