Emily Henry is starting to grow on me…This was cute and fun! (Also heartbreaking at times and made me tear up)…LOVED!

I have no words to describe how much this book enraged me…So I believe that it served its purpose.
Jane and John‘s relationship is full of red flags from the start. But they persist, get married, have a child…
And what Manguso does is take you along through a horrible roller-coaster ride that you don‘t want to get down from (because the writing is THAT good!).
Read this!

I hate bailing on memoirs but the lack of structure on this one was just too much for me.
Didn‘t feel like reading any of the books I‘m currently in the middle of so I started this…
Even though the ending of this book was predictable, it didn‘t take away from the writing being wonderful and insightful (I highlighted many quotes).
Javi‘s hustle story was not a new one, but it was still entertaining and it gives you something to think about when it comes to how far will you go to obtain external validation and are you willing to pay the price for the risks that you take?
Excellent debut!

Exactly how I feel when non-fiction or memoirs spend too much time giving me statistics…
Started this book today and read 25% in one sitting. Happy that I gave Mancuso another chance! #arc #NetGalley
I adored this book!! It was a tough read at times (also, a bit long but the audiobook helped).
I‘ve probably said this EVERY time I finish a series or duology by Benavent but Martina and Pablo are my fave couple!

I wasn‘t trying to play the victim until the world taught me what a powerful grift it is.
The story centers around Old Second, Bao Mei and Yan Hua. They have all immigrated to NY from China and we see their struggles as they acclimate to this new life.
But the main focus is how they were all connected in the past via a cinema in China where gay men cruised looking for love.
You can‘t help but feel a connection to the characters (main and secondary) due to this author‘s writing. It is a complex story that was executed beautifully.
Will I finish a book this week? Maybe…In the meantime, let‘s start a new one!

1. Tagged. It also took me forever to find it since I lived in Providence, RI at the time and finding books in Spanish was very difficult.
2. John Grisham
3. Salvar el Fuego (Saving the Fire) by Guillermo Arriaga. I fell in love with his writing after I read this book and have been on buddy reads for his books where he joins the last meeting and he is AMAZING!
This book has a very unique format and I have to say I‘m not a fan.
I love family drama, but reading it in the form of one-sided phone conversations is getting tiresome…
This just wasn‘t for me. Read about 100 pages and I just wasn‘t clicking with it. Returning it to the library since there are other people waiting for it.
Got approved for this e-ARC through #NetGalley today. I tried reading Very Cold People by this author, but ended up DNFing…This looks more up my alley so I‘m excited to read another Manguso.
Had to start this…My “Currently Reading” list is just nuts at this time… 😅
In today‘s episode of “Always Behind on #NetGalley ARCs”…
This looks like it will be interesting and heartbreaking!
Another hit for me! Part of the ending was a bit predictable, but it did not take away from my enjoyment.
The audiobook narration was great and the spice was 🥵😏

I was looking for something lighthearted last night and started this…Got to 18% and it was just not doing it for me.
This is a VERY old #NetGalley ARC 😅
4th Ernaux and I just couldn‘t connect with this one. I couldn‘t figure out what I was reading until about 50%. Only reason why I didn‘t bail on this one was because it was a short read.

1. I volunteered at my school library in Middle School. I was extremely shy and a recent immigrant in NY and the library became my safe space.
2. ARCs, library, Amazon, BOTM
3. A Girl‘s Story by Annie Ernaux
1. Charcuterie
2. My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Mushfegh (because I need to have people around when I reread it! 🤣)

I‘ve put this off long enough…Also, felt like holding a physical book.
I need to take a break from this type of book for a while…Storylines are starting to run together and I just became exasperated with this one at about 60%.
I loved this so much! I completely understood the extremely close relationship that Katie had with her Mother and how she felt completely lost after her passing.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Been having awful back pain for the past few days…Starting this audiobook because I need a read from my comfort author.
So ready to dive into this duology!
Slowly plowing through this one. Can relate so much to this part!
I‘m so excited my library hold came in for this…Starting it immediately!
I‘ve been searching for this book for years and I know that we have found each other at the right time.
This was a roller-coaster of emotions! The story opens with our main character, Ella, being released from prison. What follows is her trying to find her footing in the outside world and flashbacks to what led to her incarceration.
We‘re also given POVs (past and present) from her Mom, Helen, and her ex-boyfriend, Jude.
I loved it. This is perfect for fans of second-chance stories and mother/daughter relationships.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting this…Somewhat intrigued, even though I read a similar story recently. But curious about this approach!
Starting this audiobook. I‘m so excited that Lauren Graham is the narrator. Love her!
It‘s a wrap on this trilogy! Loved it. I started this not expecting much, but this story took me by surprise and I became very invested.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What I enjoyed the most about this book is the 3 different POVs, even though sometimes it took a little bit of adjusting from one to the other (this happened mostly with Nick).
The story centers around a Chinese-American family and how trying to shape fate affected them. I loved it. I loved the dynamics and how the author developed the characters and presented the story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Watching this because I‘m a sucker for punishment…(it‘s not going well) 🤣
Title translation: Someone Like Me
Diving into Part 3!
First Rebecca Serle and I loved it! This was a very unique concept for a story and it was executed so well.
Loved that I did not see the twist in the story coming at all, and the ending was perfect.
Can‘t wait to read her backlist!

1. My birthday! My brothers have taken it upon themselves to make sure my birthday is very special every year (our Mom passed on my birthday 5 years ago). It‘s very touching since we have crazy schedules, families and live in different countries.
2. Tagged. This book sucked me in!
3. Need to start planning a move. Excited but overwhelmed!
I had requested an ARC of this a few months back and just received it last week while I was on vacation. I‘ve been anticipating reading this, and even though I‘m in the middle of too many books right now I just couldn‘t wait any longer 😅
1️⃣ Jaded by Ela Lee (tagged)
2️⃣ Alguien como yo (Someone like me) by Elisabet Benavent. I am looking forward to wrapping up this trilogy, even though I am loving the characters and don‘t want it to end!
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
New audiobook…I‘ve seen so many mixed reviews about this that I‘ve been looking forward to reading it to see how I feel about it.
Title translation: Someone Like You
The 2nd installment of this trilogy was so good! I am loving the audiobook narrators for these books.
Had to sign-up for an Audible free trial to get the third book, my library does not have it and I just have to know how this ends! 😅
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3.5⭐️ I liked this. The story felt very raw from the get-go, but then it started to lose me towards the end.
I recognize what the author was trying to do, and I know that she was looking to convey Catalina‘s roller-coaster of emotions for what she was going through, and even though I never lost interest in the story, it didn‘t live up to the hype for me.

Tried reading in the past couple of days but was distracted by this view…
(Cabarete Beach, Dominican Republic)
It pains me to bail on this because I started really liking it, but at about 50% on it just felt that I was reading about other people‘s lives and not hers.
