Quick, sad and sickening read. Worth reading but will devastate.

A quick, compelling read. Although there‘s actually nothing nice about the topic, or most of the people in the book.

slategreyskies Odd that literature is spelled wrong on the cover. I keep looking at it, thinking that I must be seeing it wrong. 1mo
slategreyskies ^^^to add to that comment of mine, I just looked up the word, and it‘s apparently a real word that I‘d never heard of before. It‘s always a good day when you learn something new! :) 1mo
TrishB @slategreyskies I just screen shotted the pic from Amazon- you are right! But on my actual printed book it is correctly spelt on the front 😁 which confused me no end after your comment. So it‘s correct on the book…. 1mo

TrishB Even more confusing- the one on the front of the book is spelled differently …. @slategreyskies 1mo
slategreyskies Oh wow! Now I don‘t know if it‘s in reference to the other word or is just a typo. Haha! 1mo
TrishB @slategreyskies confusion all round 😁 1mo
squirrelbrain I can‘t believe I didn‘t notice this! 🤦‍♀️ 1mo

The next book, after Water, in the ‘four elements‘ set by John Boyne.

This one, about a gay footballer caught up in a sexual assault scandal with a 19-year old girl, is as compelling as the first book. I couldn‘t put it down and read it in one sitting (it is only short though!)

There was one bit that just seemed a bit OTT! But then what do I know about this murky tabloid world?! Be interested to hear what others think…

Out 18th April in UK.

AmyG Ooooo can‘t wait to read this one. 1mo
TrishB Just finished it. Which particular bit? Personally, walking into a professional footie team at 19 is a bit OTT! 1mo
TrishB My Waterstones order must have come early (yesterday!). 1mo

squirrelbrain @TrishB - Amazon still says release date of 18th. 🤔🤪 1mo
squirrelbrain @TrishB that bit too, but more the part where he had his arm broken. 1mo
TrishB Oh yes! Bit weird. Some bits definitely a bit more compelling! I‘d have liked 50 pages more to see the after the ending. 1mo
