I‘ve been not feeling too great over the last week and have been mainly reading children‘s books, this being the current one. My cold is finally getting better and so is the weather. :) #currentlyreading

This was a cute and quick read about the day to day in a spontaneously acquired book shop in Vienna. Lots of downs but also ups and tons of cute anecdotes.
How did you like it?

I am feeling kind of conflicted about this... it was a gripping story and I really wanted P.A. dead+Sector 45 freed. I love Kenji+James and like the whole gang basically. I can understand Adam‘s moping but not his anger+violence towards J. I am very proud of her development, that discovered her strength+confidence. Though I am sympathetic towards Aaron, these 2 should not be together. Even he had his reasons, he still traumatised her further.

My poor heart almost couldn‘t take this. 😅 it is a brilliant book and the ending held a whirlwind of emotions and action in store for me...
I love the world building, I love the character development, the action is great, the magic is great, the cover is gorgeous and there is a map. Awesome! I think some characters were waisted but Tomi Adeyemi probably had good reasons for that

Soo, I decided to finally DNF this book and unhaul it. It is not for me. Maybe it will bring someone else joy or something like that. :)
I studied translation, and literature in English was a part of that and I thought I should have read Ulysses because of that. Well, no. 😬😄
Have you read this? Or tried to read it? :)

I love Nevermoor! Please let me go back soon 😊🌂 I‘ll bring my brolly and everything! The second book was just as good as the first one and I cannot wait for the third one to come out. It was pretty creepy in some parts but also charming and wunderful!

I finished the second Binti installment for #24in48 and it was as exciting as the first one. :) I really like the unique kind of sci-fi Nnedi Okorafor invented and the way Binti is developing. I will not get anywhere near 24 hours of reading but it‘s fine, I am glad I found the time to read this little novella. :)

Amazing! A friend gave this to me and it is such a beautiful story :) There is so much quiet power in these friendships it made me think growing older might not be as scary... :) The English and Frech title say something about falling birds in case you are trying to find this book. :)

It was a great read! I have taken so so long to finish it but the book was worth all of this time. The world is so weird and strange and yet you get why characters do what they do. I hope the second book will be written/get published someday 😊

My bf and me read this book to each other and it was a lot of fun sharing a book this way... the story was quite intriguing if a bit slow at the beginning. We enjoyed it but unfortunately the n-word could be found in the text and that left a stale aftertaste. It was not only the POC character who used the term himself but also the author when describing him 🤢 It was written in the 1960‘s which is an explanation but not an excuse for that...

Wow! So much going on in this book! I love the character building and that I can absolutely comprehend what‘s going on with this amazing heroine 😍
Can somebody tell me why this edition is called the Enhanced Edition? 🧐

This was the first Pullman-Book I read and must say it didn‘t disappoint! It was beautiful and the story developed alongside Malcolm and the river. I liked the magic and the friendships, La Belle Sauvage, the atmospheric writing and well I can‘t wait for how the story continues. I had a few minor issues with somethings and so I would give it 4,5/5 stars💫💫💫💫#thebookofdust #labellesauvage #philippullman

#betweennovemberspages for today is ‚short & sweet‘. This was very short and very sweet. Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt‘s ‚Oscar and the Lady in Pink‘ is a bittersweet little book that entertained me on a very long train ride to Munich. ?

Good morning lovelies! This is my other current read, the one I carry around because its size is just perfect for my handbag.
I am not that far in but I love the writing and Fforde's imagination. I haven't completely grasped the concept of this society yet, but people are divided by colors, the colors they can perceive I think.
If anyone of you has read it yet give me a hint? 😇

I know, I know I am late to the party and we're already in the middle of #hobbitweek and #bagginsbirthdaybash, but at least I remembered to carry The Hobbit with me so when the opportunity presented itself I snapped this photo 😏
The Hobbit is overdue for a re-read, it is such a wonderful book and I actually haven't read it in English yet. 😇

So, I wasn't as excited about the book in the end as I was in the beginning. It had some beautiful descriptions, mostly regarding book, the shop, and the story was good, but somehow the characters stayed a bit flat and thus weren't as relatable. The translation into German was done by Günther Frauenlob and Maike Dörries and I think they did a terrific job :) #loveyourtranslator All in all I'd give the book 3.5/5✨ it was still entertaining ?

Another pirate story, this time for kids a bit older ;) really liked the heroine and some of the side characters. The story was alright too, but a bit predictable. Looking forward for the second book anyway ⚓️ 4/5✨for this. :)

Also just finished this brilliant book which gives an overview over the year 1913. I can't even imagine how much source material the author had to sort through how many dates he had to bring into order to create this dense picture of a year so full of creative, influential or misunderstood people. I wish he would pick another year and write another book. :)

Roebbe Oh, and this is definitely a 5/5✨ book. 7y

I added yet another book to my current reads... I've had this for about two years and thought it was fitting to read this while at the sea. It is about pirates (truth be told I think they are fisherfolk) and their life in a secluded sea. Five kids set out to find wood to build better/more ships. It has been a fun read so far! ☀️

So, #24in48 didn't go as planned for me. The day has four more hours but seeing that I still have some work to do today and have to get up early tomorrow this is probably my final "score". I still managed to read about half of The Upside and I am loving every page of it. ? Molly is super relatable for me, but I guess she is a lot more reflected than I was at her age.

Finally finished 'The broken sigil', the German translation to be exact. It did pick up on speed on the last few pages but I am still unimpressed with the writing style (might be due to the translation... or not.) And I am more concerned about the wellbeing of a side character whom I've met for a couple of lines than about that of the main characters'... I'd give it 1.5/5 stars ✨ I'll give this away, hopefully to someone who enjoys it :)

I obviously took the picture when it was cold, last November when I read all day 😍 I loved this book, loved the quirky writing, the cute story, the people. I did not like how rushed the ending felt, it was a bit as if Mafi had run out of pages but that didn't spoil the book for me. Would love to revisit Furthermore 🦊🌷4.75✨/5

Happy 20th birthday, Harry Potter! So many memories... 😍 As you can see, I am one book short (I don't have The Chamber of Secrets) this is due to the fact that growing up we had one copy of each of the books for the whole family. Most of them are still at my parents'. I started to buy the English versions and inherited a couple of German versions from my grandma. #harrypotter #hp20

Roebbe Whoopsi, didn't realize I picked the Irish Gaelic version out of the list 😇 Mine is obviously in English 😄 7y

My other current read. Love this one, it is witty and interesting and contains so much information about that year. So much happened and so many different people interacted and influenced each other. :)
I am trying to make this last by (almost) only reading it on the tram or train. The form is perfect for that. :)

This is my current main read and I am about half way through... not impressed so far. The two guys the story focusses on are not really relatable to me, the way the magic works hasn't been explained in a satisfying way and the story is dragging. This is the first in a series so maybe thats the reason for this... We'll see what the rest of the book holds. 🤔
