Incorporating graphology to help track down a killer is something I haven't seen done yet. The characters were meh. I couldn't connect with any of them. The plot was okay. Seeing the inside of a cult was fascinating, but because of the dull characters, I couldn't really get into it.

Bonus - Meet our doggo, Joxer. AKA: Bob Barker.

Out of the first 3 books, this has been the weakest. It feels like a whole lot of nothing happens even though it's one of the longer books. I found myself getting lost or losing track of the story because it got boring. I love the characters, but the plot could've used a bit of tightening up.

I'm back! Finally got a new phone so I can start catching up and posting again. Sorry in advance for the barrage of book reviews that are coming. 😆

I hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I've been MIA! So much has been going on and I haven't had a chance to sit down and read anything. I have been slowly picking away at the Traitor's Moon audiobook.

I plan to get more active on here. Miss seeing everyone's posts and recommendations!

I like to try and get at least a hundred pages in to really get a feel for a book. I don't even think I made it that far and I think it's because of the characters. The book has a love triangle going on in the very beginning and it doesn't work, at least for me it doesn't. It seems too rushed and too forced.

Somehow I did it this year! I know 28 (actually it's 33, I don't know why this is stuck at 28) doesn't seem like a lot of books but there was a lot going on this year. I finally managed to pick up an actual e-ink reader and it has been a life-changer! So much easier on my eyes and so much lighter to hold than a tablet. I'm looking forward to increasing my goals for 2019. Here's to 45 books! 😊

Literary_Siren E-ink readers are the best!! I own almost as many ebooks as I do hard copy books! 6y

Even though I didn't really enjoy Pamela Kelley's cozy mystery novel, I decided to give her romance novels a try. I hate to say it, but I do not enjoy her writing style. She tends to tell the reader details instead of showing them and it makes for a boring read. Her characters also don't have real depth so they are forgettable.

This book is a definite pick for me. I did feel like I was actually transported back in time with Martha. I enjoyed reading about the scenery and also about the characters and their lives, even the minor characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This book held a lot of promise, but everything felt rushed: the situation the characters were in and their growing attraction. This book could have delved so much deeper into the characters and their emotions. It all ended up feeling skin deep. I feel let down in a sense and so I'm giving this one a pan.

I couldn't finish it. The author spent more time detailing what the main character was cooking rather than the disappearance of a student. The food sounded yummy, though! And I love that the author includes a recipe.

I didn't like the main character. 😥 She would be judgemental in one moment and then full of empathy the next. For someone who has a (what seems like a long) career in the police force, she jumps the gun often without evidence. The story itself was okay, but I don't think I'll be continuing this series.

While the book had an interesting concept, I couldn't really get into it 100%. I can't even put my finger on why. I connected with the main character at first, but when the change happened, I couldn't anymore. The book itself is well written. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing either.

As a cozy romantic quick read, this book isn't that bad. Still found it entertaining enough to finish, but I feel the situation between the main characters escalates too quickly. I also like it there is a little bit of suspense thrown in so it's not all just romance. However, I think the book will be forgettable.

The premise of this book had a lot of promise: catching ghosts 👻 with coffee ☕ (two of my favorite things). It read more like a draft than a complete piece of work.

There was no thought process behind characters' actions, everything was told to us rather than shown ... I could go on. I'm so bummed because I was looking forward to a good ghost story for Halloween.

I really wish that Veronica Roth wrote the Divergent series based on Four's point of view rather than Tris'. His character was more likable and I felt he had more depth compared to her.

I liked that we got to see how Four transferred to Dauntless and his experiences there. I only wish there were more short stories to read.

I am going to give this books a hesitant pick. At first I wasn't liking the story or characters at all. The stories are predictable, but there are some funny moments. As I kept reading, I started liking the characters more - even if they do seem similar to each other. So far the second book with Drake and Victoria is my favorite.

This was the weakest book out of the trilogy in my opinion. I understand there was a lot of character development, but the plot dragged on. I found myself getting bored. And the plot of wanting to fix genetically damaged people felt weak at best. Caleb volunteering to die or Peter wanting to wipe his own memories just didn't seem in their nature, unless I missed something.

I really tried to finish this book. The characters were one dimensional and they had no emotion driving their actions.

There were also so many characters to keep track of. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if the characters had memorable traits.

This is part of a series and I have the second book. I won't be reading that one either.

This book was an adventure. A bit predictable, but that doesn't lessen the impact of the story in my opinion. I love seeing the character growth, not only between Alec and Seregil, but also Beka and even Thero!

I wanted to like this twist on Beauty and the Beast, but it felt so bland. No character development whatsoever, plot was predictable, and the story felt very rushed.

I don't think I've enjoyed a book as much as this one in a long time. The character development in this is fantastic. I feel like I actually know what makes these characters tick, even the minor ones. The action sequences were non-stop and I never felt lost or confused about the plot.

I'm a sucker for anything with Sherlock Homles, so of course I enjoyed this audiobook. The only negative is the way the producers pitched the actor's voice to sound feminine. It's sounds creepy and slightly robotic.

My boyfriend is not a reader, but ever since I've been listening to more audiobooks, he has become more and more interested in this series. *evil grin* Honestly, we're both a bit annoyed by Tris Prior's character, but want to know what is outside the fence.

I usually avoid books that are told from a first person perspective There are a few passages that I get hung up on, but the story is intriguing enough to keep me going.
