New*ish* middle grade paranormal mystery, with a tasteful LQBTQ aspect. Recommend!

There were no survivors from Lifeboat 8… True story [historical fic] that I had no idea about. Great story!

Love a book in verse! One day read for me!

So…. I own chickens, and my brother in law thinks he‘s funny. He rigged the white elephant gift exchange for me to win this gem. 🤣

I did already read On the Horizon - beautiful poetry about connections revolving around her real life and WW2 by Louis Lowry

Mysterious and fast paced I enjoyed my first read by the author. I‘ve had her others on my TBR for forever.

1. Going back to work (teacher) have two days left of COVID exposure quarantine, so starting virtually (at least I‘ll have time for some audiobooks!)

2. Going on a walk with the family and feeding carrots to some local horses! My daughter is obsessed! 😁

First book of 2021 🥇I‘ve been following the author for several years as the cohost to the @probooknerds podcast. This is her memoir from when she worked as a prison librarian. I couldn‘t put this book down - Jill‘s writing style is fun and compelling. I really enjoyed the stories, something that would be so scary to most of us if we were thrown into the same job and how she found encouragement and appreciation of working with inmates. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My family bet me I couldn‘t finish this 664 page book before the new year. Do they even know me? 😊 Challenge accepted! 📖

Maybe my last book of 2020 🤔 probably not... 🎄This was a fun holiday read that I devoured in about 24 hours. 5 ⭐️

I had just finished Ready Player Two and struggled (unpopular opinion: 3⭐️) fun change of pace! ❤️

I loved this book! It‘s the first I‘ve read by the author but based on this I‘ll definitely be back for more! Finally finished! 4/5 ⭐️ Honestly, I didn‘t get the hype... I enjoy the film adaptations, but the language and writing of a 1800s novel is difficult for me. I agree with most though, Jane Austin is a genius I just find her writing style a bit tricky.

There‘s no tired like teacher tired on the first week of school...in the midst of a pandemic, who is teaching both in person AND virtually simultaneously!!! My reading has felt the effect too. 😒

I admit I often pick up buzzy books just to see if they are really as good as the hype. I often find #romcoms cheesy, but I felt that this one was more realistic and natural. I loved the slow burn between January and Gus, the friendship between January and Shadi, Gus‘ insecurities, and the behind-the scenes look at writing and research . From a want to be novelist myself I thought it was fantastic!
