I love when you discover a new potentially absolute fave through a recommendation from a fellow book lover.

Loved the story of Elantris and the mystery and discovery that the characters worked through. Great characters #Raoden and awesome world-building. Looking forward to reading the Mistborn trilogy!

Summer is finally here and that means I have time to plunge into the long-awaited World Without End.

I have had this on my shelf for years but needed a nice empty summer to feel like I could get stuck into it.

Need to garden... but a little read beforehand won't hurt. Just for 5 minutes ☺

Just finished Crooked Kingdom and loved all 5 of the Grishaverse books. Next up I'm reading Muse of Nightmares!

Then I want to start one if the above - anybody read them? Any comments? I've read Strange the Dreamer and all of ACOTAR and loved them all.

I love books 💛

Happy Friday readers ☀️

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Daughter of Smoke and Bone is awesome. It took me a little longer to get through the second one and I haven't read the third one yet. But that's my pick. 5y
Jinster @BookHoarder32 Thank you! I only heard of it today but it sounds right up my street! 5y
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I haven't read Strange the Dreamer yet (I own it and Muse), but if you like her writing, I think you'll definitely like it. 5y
julesG Loved the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. Loved it so much, I bought several editions. 🙈 5y
Johanna414 I‘ve read and loved both series, but Daughter or Smoke and Bone is one of my absolute favorite series. It is so beautiful (edited) 5y

After my first time speaking at an education conference today, I decided that I deserved a new book!

Obviously I still have over 30 books on my tbr shelf but I'm sure I'll slot this in somewhere - any fans? Loved the ACOTAR series ☺

wildwoodreads I‘m ready the series now and it‘s great. I have to say I almost like it better than ACOTAR. 5y
Jinster @megzlynn My friend said the same! I've found it hard to believe but I guess I'll find out!! 5y

Current read

Thrilled to see Vermont make an appearance - one of my fave states so far. Beautiful place!

Hopefully the storyline won't ruin idyllic memories 🙊

Four unread sequels to some of my favourite books and I've been putting them off for so long, possibly to savour them, maybe because I'm scared to finish them as I might lack the exciting of having them ready.

Hands up - who else does this??

gibblr At least in the case of Crooked Kingdom and Muse, you should do it!! I read both not too long ago. Put off Muse for awhile but finally but the bullet. 6y
Jinster @gibblr 👍 Tempted to do SK first as there are so many more to look forward to. Then keep the massive Follett story for summer. 6y
julesG Yep same! Crooked Kingdom and I haven't even read Strange the Dreamer. Stupid as hell. And my kids are the same. 🙈😁 6y

Six of Crows | Leigh Bardugo

Saints help my tbr pile now I've read Six of Crows 😂

But which should I prioritise next? I want to read Crooked Kingdom really bad but I'm so tempted to get the Shadow and Bone books read first.

Help?! 😂📚

VanChocStrawberry Shadow and Bone trilogy happens first chronologically, but I also read six of crows first. If I were you I‘d read crooked kingdom next. 6y
VanChocStrawberry I went to a book signing with Bardugo, and she asked what I thought of the intentional inconsistencies with narrators...but I‘d read them so far apart, a lot of that was missed by me. PLUS the TV show is combining the first books of the two series. Between those two things reading them like you‘re thinking could be awesome. 6y
cherinium I went right into Crooked Kingdom after Six of Crows, because I had to see how that all turned out. I have bought, but still not read Shadow and Bone. 6y
Jinster @cherinium @VanChocStrawberry Thanks both - totally taking this into account. I'll read my next distraction and think it over while they both make their way to me 6y

Six of Crows | Leigh Bardugo

Leigh Bardugo fans - I am almost half way through Six of Crows but I feel like I'm missing a lot of back story!

Should I have started the Grishaverse somewhere else? Should I stop reading SoC and start this world from a more suitable point??

I hate being out of order!

TheSpineView I read six of crows first and I found it was not necessary to read the others first. Though there were a few things made clearer. 6y
Jinster @TheSpineView OK that's good to know. I feel like I might read the earlier books after I've finished Soc 6y
SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime it's not necey to read first but the Shadow and Bone trilogy will give you the missing background 6y
Jinster @SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime Great, thank you! 6y
cherinium I have read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, but have not read the Shadow and Bone trilogy. I did not feel like I missed out on anything important. 6y

My current read - I've had it weeks but prioritised a new, spontaneous purchase.

I'd love to hear what people though of this. at the moment I'm about 50 pages in and finding it a little more scatty than I thought but finding the character development pretty good so it's keeping me satisfied. Wonder if it'll live up to its hype?!

julesG It takes about 70 pages to get the story started. I'm sure you've probably passed that point by now. 6y
Jinster @julesG Ahh OK, I'm not quite but definitely will be tonight 👍 6y
julesG Another Litten warned me about the slow start due to all the characters being introduced. I might have given up otherwise. 6y

This is my absolute favorite book so far this year. And totally unexpected as I bought it on a whim after reading one rave of a review.

Any other Lazlo fans?

How long do I leave the book hangover to pass before moving onto Muse of Nightmares?

Jinster @Becker Oo really? This is the first I'd come across but I'll look a bit deeper 6y
Jinster @charl08 Haha good question, I'm just so worried that sequels ruin the magic that has built up 6y
