Although I didn't find Doctor Sleep anywhere as "smooth" or creepy as The Shining, I really enjoyed following Danny Torrence's struggle and redemption in King's sequel to his beloved novel.

Something a little different from Stephen King, but definitely worth the read.
I read this a while back and LOVED It! Time to read it again for book club ❤️
Trying to decide if I want to jump into Doctor Sleep or read something else first. 👻🎃
Okay, okay. It took me forever (I've been busy) but I FINALLY finished The Shining! Holy guacamole, y'all! I'm so glad I picked it up! So many differences from the movie, so well written, so flippin clever! Now I'm dying to read Doctor Sleep!
I'm super excited to read and discuss this book with my book club next month!
I got to meet Dav Pilkey last night, y'all! He is such a wonderful speaker and sweet man!
While traveling to WV last weekend, I left a copy of The Magpie Murders at Shot Tower Park in VA. Being a Book Fairy makes my heart so happy!

I really want to read some chilling tales for October, but before then, I think I'll give The Good Girl a try. It's been sitting here waiting on me for what seems like evaaaaaa.
I don't quit books. I just don't. I quit this one. Keller has a beautiful voice & is no doubt a talented writer, but this book frustrated me. 50% of the way through & she's still describing every little detail, telling the back story of every minor character, repeating herself over & over, yet the plot has gone NO WHERE! When I realized I'd given up & was merely skimming, I decided to bail.
Yesterday, Book Fairies all over the world celebrated independent authors! I dropped a brand new copy of The Baker's Man by Jennifer Moorman in front of one of my favorite local bakeries 🍞📚🧚♀️

I just adore Ghoulia! This book is so fun and has such lovely illustrations!
Umm, yes! Wilder Girls was a fascinating ride I do not regret taking.
Moving on to A Killing in the Hills by Julia Keller, a book set in my home state of WV.
Fascinating, hilarious, and uncomfortable as hell. Yet another book readers will either love or hate.
Just keepin' it real over here 📚👀🌃
Pumpkin spice latte, glazed donut, and some quality reading time ❤️
Tonight's book club was a success! We had a small group and I got nervous when conversation lulled a little, but, overall, I think it went well!
If you haven't read The Husband's Secret, I HIGHLY recommend it!
Dropped off a copy of J. D. Salinger's Nine Stories downtown over the weekend 📚🧚♀️ Fingers crossed the person who finds it loves it as much as I do.

Dropped a copy of The Great Gatsby in front on the gorgeous Holly Inn in downtown Pinehurst, NC this afternoon to celebrate #bookfairyclassics weekend.
Sharing this #bookishselfie & some fun facts in hopes you'll join me & do the same!
1. I'm from WV but currently live in NC
2. I taught HS English for 10 yrs
3. I'm a craft beer enthusiast & ❤️ visiting new breweries
4. MST3K is my jam
5. I have yet to meet an author at a signing & NOT embarrass myself with nonsensical ramblings 🤣
Before Dorian blew through town, I left this copy of J. A. Janice's Proof of Life for a lucky reader to find at one of my favorite parks.
This arrived in today's book mail ❤️📚 our book club will read The Book of Polly next month, so I thought I'd grab a cheap copy ahead of time.
Share you live of reading with others and become a BOOK FAIRY! I'll just leave this here in case you're curious! 📚🧚♀️
Well, hell. I can see some people digging this story & I really didn't hate it, but I also didn't like it. The characters aren't relatable or even enjoyable, & the plot is so predictable I just started skimming paragraphs after a while.
My Library is kicking off a new Book Club next week & this gal gets to facilitate. Even though I'm terrified no one will show up, I'm super excited to have the opportunity to run this group. Our first book is one I love : The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty.
Hi, Littens! Do me a favor and check out the NC Book Fairies on IG! 📚 Lots of cool things are coming! If you want to join the fun, check out the link found on this to learn more!

It's my one year anniversary! Thanks, @Litsy for the celebratory shout out! 📚❤️🥳
Ahhhhh! I'm so excited to start Wilder Girls! I read a chapter online a few months ago and have been thinking about it ever since.
Just one of the many TBR piles in my house ❤️📚
I really need some uninterrupted reading time.
One of the most difficult things about working in a library the temptation to take home ALL of the exciting books 🤣
Do you take advantage of Kindle's First Reads? I cannot turn down a free book, y'all! Starting this thriller soon ❤️📖
Definitely not for everyone, but apparently right up my alley. Lots of creepy "what the what?" moments kept me flipping pages and finishing Awad's novel in 2 days. I would ❤️ for my book club to pick this one bc there's just so much to discuss, so much to digest!
Absolutely true. I'm sure we can all relate to this statement. 🙋♀️
I have looked at this cover probably 100 times, but it wasn't until today that I really looked at it. I am so embarrassed that I have NEVER noticed the details before! I just thought it was a pencil ✏️😶🤷♀️
Finally jumping into Educated! Hope I love it as much as the patrons at the library do!
To be honest, this is probably not a book I would typically pickup. I wasn't excited when my book club assigned it, but, as it so often happens, I found it to be a compelling story that made me truly think about the world around us.
Thank you @mreads for the awesome collection of bookmarks! I love, love, love them all!

I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT TO READ THIS! *sigh* Just gotta finish my book club read first.
