Very happy with today‘s acquirement and diving in immediately.
Evening reading. So tough, but so good.
Seriously, I am loving this book.
Franchesca is speaking my lingo about how to behave on the Internet/all the time.
Bedtime reading.
I got on the plane, cracked this gorgeous book open, and never looked up until I finished it a little over an hour later. Run to your local Bookshop and order this baby NOW. Out in March, I believe!
About to dive into this beauty after meeting Elizabeth Acevedo at ABA‘s Winter Institute and seeing her read an excerpt. There‘s also no way my brain will make it sound as good as she did, so you know I‘ll be buying the audiobook too. Just take all of my dollars. All of them.
Holy. Dang. THIS BOOK. Not only did I literally shout “NO!” when the pilot announced our arrival in Memphis because I had only 40 pages left (RUDE, PILOT. RUDE.), but then I got to meet @tadeyemibooks the next day and tell her how freakishly amazing this book is. It comes out in March and if you don‘t buy it, you‘re a fool. A FOOL. #book #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #childrenofbloodandbone #wi13 #yalit #yafantasy #fantasybooks #amreading
Excited to read this bit by bit while I work through a round of edits on my novel. Chuck Wendig‘s blog has always been a go-to for me and I have a feeling that this book kicks all sorts of ass. #amwriting #amediting
I read a chapter/section of this every morning before picking up my journal and today was the final page. I loved it (in fact, I wrote about my “reading about writing” habits on my Patreon page -www.patreon.com/AwkwardlyAlive) even though I‘m not ready for a memoir. Smith‘s tips are practical, but it doesn‘t read like a text book, and can be applied to almost every writing style. Love love love.
First read of 2018. Intense and loving it so far.
I loved the magic of this book - not to mention the fact that I just wanted to hug my dog while reading it, right up until the very last page. Legrand's characters are gritty and charming, and this world she has created is dark, yet marvelous. Love, love, love.

I've got book club tonight and I'm barely a quarter through this book, but thats because of time not content. It. Is. Fascinating.
I am loving this book and can Gio and I do magic now please?
I loved this book. Marie Bostwick writes books you can trust without being too predictable. Curl up with a blanket and a cup of tea and enjoy - especially if you have sisters.
Love love love!! -- Emmie isn't the outcast in school who gets picked on all the time. She's just... quiet, so no one really notices her. And Katie isn't popular because she's the mean girl who everyone loves out of fear, she's just really nice and really lucky. So when a love note from Emmie to Katie's new boyfriend gets shared with the entire school, Emmie isn't ready for the amount of attention she is suddenly getting... #kidlit
Was it a strange decision to listen to this almost exclusively during my lunch breaks? Maybe. But it was THAT GOOD, you guys. This book was seriously fascinating and hilarious to boot. It was my first Mary Roach and I have no doubt that I'll be returning to her work soon.
I loved this book!! Barbara Dee's characters are smart and complex. I loved that Dee knew that 8th graders can love Shakespeare and that she never puts anyone in a box. I give this book so much love. It hits shelves in March and I have a big feeling about this one, you guys. #middlegrade #kidlit #lgbtlit #shakespeare
I just finished this last night before discussing it with my book club. The timing was unintentional, but perfect. This one is difficult, but important. Solnit packs a punch...and doesn't apologize for it.
It's only perfect to post about it today, I think. #womensmarch
Just read this for the kids book club that I lead and Oh, I loved this book so much. The characters were complex and magnificent, it portrayed adults as not terrible and it was a total emotional rollercoaster. I'll agree with the quote on the front: Kids need it.
Starting this upcoming middle-grade LGBTQ novel and really hoping it will be done well! Gio is skeptical.
I took my time and chose to savor this book and I am so glad I did. Hannah Hart is one of my favorite people on the internet and her ability to maintain optimism is beyond inspiring. Read this book, please. It will teach you so many beautiful things and make you want to smile and love more. So good!!
Jenny Lawson wrote the foreword to Buffering. My heart is so, so happy.
Yes yes yes yes yeeeeesssssss! Found this in our galley room at work and I am not waiting another minute to dive in!!!
I read this for the kids book club I lead at the bookshop and I did not expect to love this book as much as I did. The first 20% was fine, and then suddenly I was met with a series of twists and turns, a rollercoaster of emotions and an absolutely fantastic story. If you or your kid is intrigued by this, I highly recommend you go for it!!
Can we just take a moment and acknowledge this EXTREME ADORABLENESS?!? so cute!!
"Fourth, my cornfield is burning!"
These are the #Rumi quotes you never hear.
Diving into this for my #ReadHarder2016 book club! Poetry isn't my usual go-to, but it's a genre I can definitely appreciate. I've never done Rumi, though, and it's been a very long time since I've sat down with a full book of Poetry. Wish me luck!
I loved every page of this book and I underlined SO MANY THINGS. Schumer writes with humor, intelligence, and heart. This book blew my mind in the best way and it might be one of my favorite books of the summer if not the entire year. Love, love, love!
Evening reading :)
Everything about this book is a solid YES. Read it. All of you. Read the whole thing because those last 50 pages are WOW. So good. So beautiful. Books like this (and the people in them) deserve your love and attention.
Finally diving into this. Let's hope it lives up to the blurbs! Although, I usually trust what @bookriot says, so when I see @Runwithskizzers use the words "Beautiful and Fabulous," I'm in.
I LOVED this book! It was smart, it was funny, and I seriously did not see the ending coming. Until now, Stuart Gibbs was a literary blind spot for me, but kids kept coming into the shop and raving about him. Now I know why. I don't care how old you are, read this book!
Diving into this for the children's book club that I run at work, aka The Not-So-Secret Reading Society! It'll be a nice change from the sad a dreary grown up books I've been dealt lately!
Revisiting this one tonight. How lucky we are to have lived at the same time as this great man, and then to have read his words! Rest in peace.
Stepping a little out of my comfort zone and trying out some Peter Lasalle short stories this morning. Gio is very concerned.
