I handle book slumps by doing something else that interests me and then returning to reading when it interests me again. I always come back to reading eventually. 📚📚📚

BookmarkTavern It‘s smart to recognize when we need to take a step back! Thanks for sharing! 1d

A good MG story about a girl‘s soccer team who fight back when their sexist male coach crosses the line. It‘s kinda sad and infuriating though that a MG book had to be written about this subject, but I‘m glad it‘s out there for any young girls who might need it.

#bookspinbingo - free space
#pop25 - a book about soccer

I enjoyed this story of a JH aged competitive girls‘ soccer team. The relationship between the sisters who rely on each other when Mom is busy or distracted by a new boyfriend was fantastic, and the team relationships felt very relatable as well. I did feel like things wrapped up a bit too easily at the end without as much detail as I would have liked, but that‘s my adult opinion.

I read this over the Christmas period. I loved the first books written by this author but felt this one fell flat. An ex-soccer player and a high flying disgraced soccer executive find themselves in an unlikely situation. They end up coaching a girls soccer team in the middle of nowhere. I enjoyed the dual POV but it really was a slow burn read. There were some laughs along the way but the ending was predictable.

Starting this tonight. I‘ve read two Christmas books so thought I‘d change it up!

TheSpineView I want to read this one. Looking forward to your thoughts. 2mo

Some young boys on a soccer team in Thailand were stranded in a cave in 2018 while exploring with their coach. The country and people from across the world came together to save them. Obviously, the rescue was incredible and it‘s a wonderful true story, but the book is written in a way that made it drag even though it was short.

Texreader What a shame! I watched this story unfold with such dread and so happy they were rescued 3mo
AvidReader25 @Texreader It‘s not a bad book! Just maybe for a YA audience and not well paced. 3mo
