I‘ve been meaning to re-read this one, and I‘m glad I finally got to it. High school boys building rockets in a West Virginia coal mining town was the kind of memoir I needed this week.

I've probably read ten or so fiction books about WW2 and they all come from different perspectives. It is a story about two women on different sides of the war, switching between Germany and America. I learned so many things that I had never even heard of before, like Mittelwerk.
I learned about Project Paperclip, the Dust Bowl, & Kristallnacht. It wasn't violently graphic but it had me emotional at times because of how helpless things could be.
HISTORICAL FICTION - WWII
1933 - we meet Lizzie and Henry in the United States and Sofie and Jurgen in Germany.
1950 - we meet the characters again in the United States.
Well researched - great story line - and you will learn about Operation PaperClip.

Loving the warm weather!!!! ☀️
This was funny in parts (especially the FBI agent involvement) - quick read about a group of “misfits“ led by ex-astronaut to save a fellow townsperson who was left in space after NASA mission -
