Tusitala-Marsh has loads of great stuff to say about diversity, acceptance, strength in uniqueness, and colonialism in these two excellent, accessible picture books. Winding up #readharder2020 with a win.
Just okay. There was a lot going on here and it didn‘t all hang together that well, but it passed the time. #readharder2020
Compelling, challenging short pieces on the animal kingdom. Through both fiction and non-fiction the authors in this collection explore the complexity of the relationship between humans and the animals we share this earth with. It is at times confronting, but always thoughtful reading. I was impressed. Slaughterhouse, The Taxidermy Museum, and Winterkill were standouts for me. #readharder2020
Question: How many #bookchallenges do you usually do? How many are you planning this year? This year I did #booked2020 and #readharder2020. For next year I'm doing #booked2021 and the #botm one from Facebook. But I'm also looking at the Popsugar and wondering what Read Harder will have this year. Is 3 too much? Is 4 insane??
Most of my December reads will be trying to finish up 3 challenges: #ReadingEurope, #USstates, and #CenturyReads. I have completed #Booked2020, #PopSugar2020, #ReadHarder2020, #mandmchallenge, #ReadwithMrBook, and #jennyis30. I've done well and I am alright with moving the rest to 21. So with that being explained, here's my tbr list for December. #BookSpinBingo #ReadNosedReindeer #WinterGames @TheAromaofBooks @StayCurious
This was such a cute little romance. I picked it up for #readharder2020, a book that takes place in a rural setting. Its set in the middle of nowhere Indiana where there is just one Chinese student....until a second one shows up. I may not be Chinese or familiar with the cultural differences, bit I am quite familiar with being the sole representative of a given minority. It's funny how experiences can be really different and similar. Love it! ♥️♥️
