Earlier this year I read My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite.

Title says it all. Our protagonist, Korede, chooses to help her sister, a serial killer. It‘s mesmerizing, tragic, funny, disturbing, and so compelling. The short chapters make the story feel fast-paced, but not rushed in any way. I sped through this one pretty quick. Loved it.

Reggie There are two parts I remember from this book that made me laugh. When the sister is dancing to Whitney Houston while the other sister is freaking out. And when the Dr. is at their house and the sister is like, hey, let‘s play Clue. 4y

Second book of isolation completed. I got this book for Christmas and finally got the time to read it. Such an easy read and the small chapters meant I just kept reading on thinking just one more chapter. Never read anything from #oyinkanbraithwaite before but I‘ll definitely be keeping an eye out for her in future. Would definitely recommend this book for a quick interesting read

Oyinkan Braithwaite's My Sister, the Serial Killer is dark and funny and so, so perceptive. Protagonist Korede loves her sister Ayoola but despairs of saving her from herself, of continuing to cover for Ayoola‘s murders and of preventing her from killing of her boyfriends. When the man Korede loves asks for Ayoola's phone number, Korede must contend with this new complication. Amazing character study in a genre that typically emphasizes plot.⠀
