This one was hard to put down. I'm reading three books right now and decided today I had to finish this one. An apocalypse, a serial killer, and a militia. McFadden is a physician, so it‘s likely that the situations in the novel are based on her own career. The MC, Dr. Jane McGill, is in her first month as hospital intern. The “devil” is her senior resident, Dr. Alyssa Morgan who is not only a grouch, but chastises Jane constantly for minor details…some of it is LOL funny with Jane‘s inner monologue. Book 1 of 2.

These are the books I‘ll be reading.

A group of friends born in the bayou are connected by the date of birth. Everyone in the community has some kind of extrasensorial “gift. Thirteen years ago 2 children were murdered and in the present one girl is missing. Grey wants to discover what happened to Elora and see if her disappearance is connected with what happened in the past. Interesting twists, a little too long, sometimes Grey is annoying but in general, I enjoyed it. 3/3.5⭐️
