First, thank you #botm for the translation guide because there is a lot of Spanish in this book. Second, the darkness in this book did not work for me. One scene where a character hurt a repeatedly abused child just disgusted me. Not a fan.

This became wayyyyy to convoluted and went wayyyyyt off the rails #NoThanks

None of the characters are likable. I want to hit Lynnette with her truck. Hendrix‘s take on the bury your gays trope is infuriating, especially since this was written in 2021. I didn‘t like Riley Sager‘s The Final Girls, but I will say his book was MUCH better than this one. Hendrix needs to stop writing women.

We are up bright and early and I got my first book of the month down. I would rather pull out my own tooth than join the Elf on a Shelf cult but I do love our low-maintenance, slightly different and proud of it reindeer friend 🥰 The story he comes with is too cute for words.

• Sadly, a #DNF for me. I was in over my head trying to understand what Neitzsche was writing. Shame because I like #philosophy and would like to explore his work. Maybe I'll try another of his or revisit this one in the future, but it's not for me right now •

I read just over half of the stories and while they were extremely well written and rather comical in places, I simply couldn‘t bring myself to finish. Not enough human-character to-human-character dynamics; far too much about hunting and horse-racing and buying horses. Oh my God!
