Wow! This #nonfiction book is deceptively simple. Told from the perspective of a 7 year old girl, this book tells of her experiences in #Aleppo as#war reigns down upon her world.

This was an emotional read for me; more than I expected it to be. I mostly enjoyed the behind the scenes of her life on the campaign trail. I appreciate how she takes responsibility and I admire her strength. #stillwithher #keepgoing #nonfictionchallenge17
I bought this book in Key West this summer and finally read it. The brief sections like above were helpful to tell where the #ghosts hauntings are reported but the descriptions of the ghosts were just meh. We visited the lighthouse above though so it's still a nice keepsake from the trip. On and it qualifies for #signedsunday too.

I visited Cuba over the summer and started this #nonfiction book to get a general overview of the country. Finally finished the book today and it makes me long to go back and visit again. The book is short and provides basic information on Cuba's past and present history.

This great nonfiction, based on a documentary, illuminated behind-the-scenes politics from the 1960s to today. White House Chiefs of Staff are neither elected not confirmed by the Senate. They‘re appointed by Presidents, work their butts off, and hopefully leave their mark before they collapse.

September was all about audio (I've never got thro' so many audiobooks before!) & catching up with challenges - just 4 to go on Read Harder now!
Faves this month: The colour of magic; signs for lost children; why I'm no longer talking to white people about race; winesburg, ohio.
My reading habits have changed totally this year. As well as audio, the nf book-a-month for #nonfictionchallenge17 has become a way of life! (Thanks @Booksandcooks !)
This book talks about making decisions from medications, to surgeries, to end of life. It's got soulful patient stories, but also plenty of research. Review to come tomorrow. In the meantime, this quote.

Even though I have watched Hannah's videos and enjoyed them, I wasn't originally interested in her book. However, I'm pleased that I took the time to listen to it. She does talk about her career, but it's the chapters on her childhood, her mother's mental issues, her father's strict religious beliefs, and her sexuality that really stand out. I highly recommend listening to Hannah narrate her story. #nonfictionchallenge17
Excellent history of the evolution of Bellevue Hospital and medicine.
