#ro17 These were my reading goals for the year.

1. Paper book journal 👍
2. I loved doing the read harder challenge! Even the categories I didn't love, I had fun exploring. I read all 24.
3. I read 24/25. 17 were from my shelves/kindle. Not bad!
4. Turns out this was my 'thing', and it's definitely going to be my thing for next year. I read authors from around 25 countries, discovered the joys of translated fiction & generally loved it.
5. YAYY!

Possibly evidence that this year's #nonfictionchallenge17 had the required effect 😃 @Booksandcooks

My #NovemberWrapUp. #ro17

What aren't included are the *huge* number of books I started this month, then quietly reshelved as it just wasn't the right time. Still, I really did enjoy all of these, found some wonderful new-to-me authors and actually finished Sagas.

Next month I'll be dealing with those pesky end-of-challenge reads!

Cathythoughts Well done 👏👏👏 7y

Favourites this month were George and Others Across, but the character I keep thinking back to is Dr Siri in The Coroner's lunch - look forward to my next bisit to Laos.

Also, feeling very chuffed with myself at having such a minimal 'currently reading' list at the moment - I sometimes get it down to 4, but *never* as low as 2! Now, if I could just finish Sagas next month....

September was all about audio (I've never got thro' so many audiobooks before!) & catching up with challenges - just 4 to go on Read Harder now!

Faves this month: The colour of magic; signs for lost children; why I'm no longer talking to white people about race; winesburg, ohio.

My reading habits have changed totally this year. As well as audio, the nf book-a-month for #nonfictionchallenge17 has become a way of life! (Thanks @Booksandcooks !)

TrishB Cool 👍 I'm aiming for at least one NF a month too. 7y

August was a pretty good reading month for me. Especially loved the #Botswana books, and finally got to Bruce's memoir & Homegoing, both of which lived up to expectations.

AND a whole 3 of these were actually my own print books (almost an all-time record!)

#ro17

KCorter ❤Homegoing❤ My book club just discussed it last night. You're so right; it definitely lived up to my expectations as well. 7y

Meh. So my month started well, and kind of went downhill, mainly because work gobbled up my reading/walking/gardening time.

I'm in the middle of lots of good things. And the book-buying ban has definitely helped me read my own stuff. (Though I had a minor splurge on Audible credits - didn't want to lose them!)

Next month's priorities:
1. Finish things!
2. Audio (my eyes need a holiday)
3. Botswana reads
4. Fun books!

Cinfhen Sounds like a plan! 7y
batsy 👍 7y
Kalalalatja Sounds like you are in for a good month with those plans! 7y
PurpleyPumpkin I like your plans for the month. August is the perfect month for fun reads, celebrate the close of summer! 😉👍🏽 7y

June was a good reading month! I read authors from Syria, Thailand, Iran, UK and US, and all of them were pretty good! I also 'decluttered' my currently reading list of 'not the right time' books and instigated a book-buying & borrowing ban - until 1st September, it's only books I already own! (Which might mean I tackle LitsyAtoZ). I've abandoned the idea of bookgroups for a couple of months, and am half-way through readharder. #junewrapup #ro17

My #junemostanticipated, and I'm really looking forward to both of these.

May was a shocker, reading-wise, so my plan for June is
1. Audio, audio, audio. My work ramps up this month, so my eyes don't want to read at the end of the day.
2. Try out a book group. There are two I'm considering locally - need to actually get to one of them!
3. Read down my currently reading heap. It's just silly!
4. 2 LitsyAtoZ, 2 ReadHarder.

rockpools @Cinfhen She does, and she keeps reminding me! I saw Sarah Winman at a festival a couple of years back, and love the sound of her stuff. Picked this up on audio last week, so fingers crossed! 8y
Joanne1 Sounds like an awesome plan. May was rubbish for me too. 8y
batsy May was terrible for me too. I think I need to cut down on social media and actually read. But Litsy photo challenges are so fun! Dilemma 8y
rockpools @Joanne1 Here's to a more productive June! 8y
rockpools @batsy 😂No idea what you mean! 😂But there's a BookRiot one this month as well... Yeah, that might be an issue! 8y
batsy @RachelO Yes, I saw the BookRiot one too! Gotta be disciplined: snap a pic, post, then back to the books 😂 8y
Joanne1 @RachelO yes!! 8y
KarenUK @Cinfhen oh the pressure! 😬I hope you both like it! (edited) 8y
