We live near a golf course that allows people & their dogs to use it as a walking spot in the off season. Love it on most days. Last spring, we saw a few Bald Eagles 🦅 including one that swooped down, maybe 20 ft from us, skimming the rough grass for prey. Very cool! Based on the eagle‘s pattern, I don‘t think it was trying to snatch Littlest Doodle.

I've loved Ted Kooser ever since I found out he used to mail penned Valentines to 50 lucky ladies each year. ❤️ This book won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 2005 and while he was Poet Laureate of our country. His poems seem simple for they usually center on one idea or person. But they are anything but. I posted “In January“ to give you an idea.
