An article from the beginning of the year, but very cool 🙂, https://bit.ly/37c8UVz ! I enjoy this sort of finding. #LNN #LitsyNewsNetwork

Did you know Esquire Magazine publishes articles about books?! Here are some of their so-far 2020 favorites: https://bit.ly/2SFMeEp ! Have you read any of these and approve?! 🙂 #LNN #LitsyNewsNetwork

rwmg I'm thinking of wishlisting Leave rhe World Behind. I've seen some good reviews, but waiting to see what the word of mouth is like. 4y

Want to check out a $22,000 book to be published in December?! (Not the tagged book, lol.) https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/industry-news/publisher-news/articl... #LNN #LitsyNewsNetwork

rwmg I think I'd rather spend the money on trips to see the original 4y

An interesting news story for #BannedBooksWeek, one of my favorite weeks of the year 😁: https://bit.ly/2GgfP4J ! If someone tries to prevent me from reading something...then I really want to read it. You?! #LNN #LItsyNewsNetwork

Kimberlone Some of my favorite books are the ones that have been the most banned - Fahrenheit 451, To Kill a Mockingbird, Huckleberry Finn, and Harry Potter. 4y
Scochrane26 Every time I look at a banned books list, I realize I‘ve read a lot of them. This week I‘m reading The House of the Spirits. 4y

#NobelPrize for Literature winner announced! I haven‘t heard of either author before 🙈. What do you think of the recipients‘ works? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/nobel-prizes-in-literature...

#LitsyNewsNetwork #LNN #TheMoreYouKnow

ljuliel I‘ve never heard of either one. I think someone needs to invent a Chastity Belt for men that works a bit like those Shock Collars for dogs. Maybe that‘d teach them to keep their danged pants on. It seems that scandals are bleeding over into every area anymore. That‘s why I don‘t watch the news. Ignorance is Bliss. Too depressing. 5y

Today‘s author spotlight: Ocean Vuong! The 30-year-old Vietnamese-American was born in Ho Chi Minh City, spent a year as a refugee in the Philippines, and moved in 1990 with his family to Hartford, CT. At age 11, he was the first in his family to learn to read. The openly-gay poet earned a degree in 19th-Century English Lit while studying under novelist Ben Lerner. He‘s received numerous awards and recognitions. #AuthorPotpourri #TheMoreYouKnow

ljuliel I like this new spotlight thing you‘re doing. Neat to see the photos and learn more about the authors. . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5y
MrBook @ljuliel Thank you ☺️! I‘m bringing it back. I allowed life to waylay me, unfortunately *sighs*. Bringing back the #TBRtemptations, #LitsyNewsNetwork, #AuthorPotpourri, and maybe start another couple ones as well 😁. I‘ve at least been able to maintain #BookTalk and #LitsyHumor. (edited) 5y
ljuliel Life has a way of slapping us all upside the head at times. Pick yourself up , dust yourself off and keep moving. Better days ahead. 👍🏼. I‘ve noticed you‘ve also been highlighting some books from your library. That‘s nice too, as we ALL seem to be on the search for new book ideas, no matter how many we may have stacked up already. Hang in there. If this Old Geezer can keep getting up, you can too. 😊 5y
MrBook @ljuliel Thank you, my friend. You are an absolute delight, and you always put a smile on my face. I appreciate your kind words of encouragement. ☺️🤗 5y

Velvetfur This area is gorgeous, but the books are all expensive because the shop owners know exactly what they're worth! I got a wonderful Gene Kelly biog around there a few years ago, which wasn't a bargain but it is a treasure 😁 6y
MrBook @Velvetfur Thank you! 🤗 6y
Velvetfur @MrBook Y'welcome! If you and @BookBabe are ever in London do go for a look around there, because it's a great place to look at....for free 😂😂 6y

So, if my time zone math is correct, this should hit us here in Central Europe at 1.00 pm CEST.

Reposting from @Avanders

ju.ca.no Aah thanks for doing the maths😍🤗 7y
julesG @ju.ca.no Learned my lesson in London. Was in Greenwich one day and wanted to see the large red ball dropping (the one on the Royal Observatory) at noon. Noon came and went and around 12.35 I realised that I'd have to wait until 1 pm due to summer time. 7y
ju.ca.no @julesG I‘m really really bad at calculating time switches🙈 7y
julesG @ju.ca.no I just tend to forget summer time. That's bad enough. 7y
