First library #Bookhaul of the year. Two holds, two finds, two buys. The tagged book sounded interesting (one of the finds). 📚

For anyone who likes WWII novels, or spy stories, this is a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the setting, the intrigue. I learned a good bit about aspects of the war with which I was unfamiliar. A new-to-me author, I thought this was well written and definitely worth the time. Recommend.

Picture has nothing to do with the book; we visited a nature preserve the other day.

Hubby gave me this for Christmas, and I started it this morning. I‘m already intrigued. WWII fiction; he knows me well😂

Lista_0522 I‘m not usually into historical books based around the time of war (I hate when the best characters die🥲) but just looking at the cover, this looks like it would be good. Or at the very least, my interest is peaked! 1mo

This graphic novel lives up to the fantastic premise- characters escaping from their books at the NYC public library! An adventurous ode to books and readers!

I enjoyed this one, but it wasn‘t a stand-out in the series. Helma‘s longtime (and unlikely) best friend Ruth is at the center with the uproar caused by her new series of paintings “Ruth Revealed.” Someone thought she revealed too much - and destroyed two of the pieces.

A fitting end to the series! This was the first mystery series I‘ve read that had an ending - well I guess Marple and Poirot did?

Mehso-so

Lucy, a young librarian, gets pulled into the life of a young boy who frequents the library, 10-year-old Ian. It turns into a rather far-fetched road trip adventure of sorts. There was a lot about reading and books and how important they are, so that was good. But it also really didn‘t quite hold up and was a bit of a mess in the middle. The characters‘ motives were never very clear and their relationship didn‘t quite develop.
