Ah, someone took the idea “what if there's actually something sinister behind all the murders happening in [small town]“ and ran with it.
I found it a bit slow at times, and just... didn't wholly click with it. But overall it was a fun idea.

An idyllic village complete with a murder solving librarian. Sherry‘s investigative skills are needed for more than reference work as the bodies begin to pile up. When Sherry‘s boyfriend is killed, her investigations take a personal supernatural turn. Charming premise, but this was almost a DNF. The characters were pleasant enough, but it was only a 2.5 ⭐️read for me.

Birthday book haul from River City Books in Soldotna, Alaska. I‘m planning on reading the tagged book first. I also ordered another one. 🙂

I expected a light read about a small town & their amateur detective who is a librarian with some supernatural elements. Which is what I got but with a twist thrown in. An enjoyable read, really loved the cat.

This was so cute! Funny@and self deprecating with a tiny dash of danger and a fun mystery.

Cozy mystery, demons, set in a library and the possibility of more books = love all around especially for @AmyG for gifting this book to me

Friday night: a new book from @AmyG to read together, fresh tulips that my husband brought home, a gin&tonic made by husband, salt & vinegar chips ( best kind) and I think the snow has finally gone for good

This is a fun and surprising book, and I enjoyed the narrator as well.
What starts as a cozy library murder mystery quickly becomes a tale of demons, justice, and rude cats.
I love how the author made her story so many different levels, and the characters were very interesting.
4/5 read if you like cozy mysteries, Buffy, and/or books that take literary troupe in a whole different way than expected.

@AmyG you are the BEST! What an absolutely lovely gift to come home to today ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would totally be up for a Buddy read!!! Let me know what works for you - my email is pmcclure@rogers.com I‘m excited to read this ( I love books about libraries and magical creatures so much)

I had to include a pic of the wrapping paper for my amazing #naughtylistholidayswap from @WildAlaskaBibliophile I cannot wait to read these books and we are trying this cocoa tonight! Yum! The deer is on my bookshelf already!

This book looked like a fun, light, cute read. But despite a couple of truly funny lines, I‘m afraid I thought it was silly and dumb. I really should have bailed.

I LOVED the first half of this, which was a welcome surprise because mysteries typically aren‘t my thing. Then, the election happened and I was suddenly less invested. That‘s also around when the mystery picked up. Your guess is as good as mine about whether my flagging enthusiasm was due to a change in the book or in the world.
What I can say, with certainty, is that C.M. Waggoner is incredibly funny. I‘ll definitely be reading more of her work!

This was a hoot. This gives you a feel for the story.
“” Of course,” Sheriff Brown said, and then slowly, deliberately started turning his head 280 degrees around on his neck … A second later he groaned and put both hands to his neck. “What the—did I just—“My neck—“”
And her cat is possessed by Thomas Cromwell!! Not very well written, but like popcorn, you just can‘t put it down.

I absolutely 😻 this #ahrs24 📦! You really went above and beyond @chasjjlee
Everything is more than perfect,
Did you make the book sleeve as well as the bookmark?!?! It is so pretty.
I need a new cover for my laptop for all these amazing stickers (I‘m a child and ❤️ stickers and magnets so much).

Light pick. Started out clever. The paranormal aspect didn't quite work with the rest of the story, in my opinion. If the pace were faster and the length a little shorter I might have enjoyed it more.

Just in case you need another book for #HauntedShelf

A cozy mystery with a murder-solving librarian in a town of citizens possessed by demons. This was too quirky and the ending too complicated . Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for an advance reader copy.
