For the first time in 3yrs, I‘m away for the weekend! The hubby had to do a job at Umina Beach so we‘re staying up at his aunts house in Gwandalan on Lake Macquarie at the Central Coast. Currently sitting on their deck, watching the sun set on the lake and reading some Harry Potter. It‘s such a perfect autumn day here I‘m set up in my backyard in the sun to finally get some reading done. I‘ve watered the veggie garden(which is going great), the flowers have the sprinkler in them and the rest of the potting can wait till tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a few chapters in, though I‘m exhausted after my asshole neighbours partied till 8.30 this morning. And now they‘re out there again!😡 #bloominglitsy #isolationinteractions

Some of the flowers popping up in my garden already, I‘m so happy! Normally flowers go to my garden to die so this makes a pleasant change, especially considering we‘re heading into winter here.Hopefully by spring they‘ll have taken over my beds and will look fantastic with masses of loveliness. This is what I‘ve been doing this weekend instead of reading! On the left is the bed that has my citrus trees(Orange, mandarin & finger lime)along with my cherry blossom trees(gorgeous in spring!), top right is my new greenhouse with a raised pine bark floor & bottom right is my new veggie garden with raised beds, willow branch screens for peas & beans to climb, gravel path & it‘s fully birdnetted to stop the bloody mynas eating my seedlings🌱

I have baby mandarins! Woohoo🙌 I haven‘t read much the past few days, a migraine decided to visit, but I‘m planning on cracking in tonight.Spent most of today working on our garden, we‘ve put in two raised beds for veggies and we‘re building a pergola over it for the bird netting(lots of myna birds that love seedlings)I‘ll post pictures once it‘s all finished.Can‘t wait to plant winter veg! #bloominglitsy #keeplitsypositive #isolationinteractions

My lovely elderly neighbour let me cut a bunch of the last autumn roses from his front garden today. We‘ve lived next door to him for 30yrs now, we unfortunately lost his wife, Sheila, to cancer a few years ago so we look out for him, especially now. Aren‘t they beautiful? They‘re David Austen roses, they‘re both English expats so Sheila tried to keep a part of the old country with her. #keeplitsypositive #bloominglitsy #isolationinteractions

In this weeks adventures in LEGO building, it‘s the Bugatti! Ta dah🎉 Took us five nights to build, it‘s the biggest car we‘ve done, even bigger than the Porsche. Plus it‘s heavier & much sturdier than any other model, it‘s been machined well. Pretty impressive, no? #LegoOfLitsy #isolationinteractions

Sitting on my verandah, enjoying the evening breeze while reading a book & drinking a cup of tea is one of life‘s simple pleasures. Something I have neglected to do long enough.
