pickWhen looking for books for #FoodAndLit for Botswana this month, I came across this graphic novel. Once I started reading, I realized it has nothing to do with Botswana at all, but is a graphic novel about 2 Somalian boys who live in a refugee camp in Kenya. A happy mistake I guess because it‘s a true story about the struggles of growing up in a refugee camp & the longing to escape to a better life in another country. Heartbreaking & well done.5⭐️

Well my books finally came in. It was around 5:30PM and I was already in my pajamas (jammie time comes early in my house). I didn‘t feel like getting dressed to walk across the street to the mail box so my participation in the #GNreadathon is limited to today only.
I like that these two books are color coordinated.

pickBook 3 down for my #GNReadathon and it‘s a good one! This graphic novel is brimming with cheese & cheese puns. It‘s a sapphic story about “Count” Camembert who is really a girl but has to dress as a boy because girls can‘t inherit their father‘s fortune. She falls in love with Princess Brie & is pals with Lady Gorgonzola & Lady Ricotta. 😁 The artwork is great & it‘s a story about friendship, love, gender & acceptance. And. So. Much. Cheese! 🧀5⭐️
pickFirst up for my #GNReadathon are 2 of the bad kitty graphic novels. I have a fondness for black cats because of my cat Chipper 🐈⬛ and I read some of these board books to Jace and thought they were funny. So I grabbed these 2 from the library. As a cat lover there is lots to relate to here about cats not wanting to take a bath 😆 These are great for kids 8+. 4⭐️
