Some options from my categories picked from two lists for #bookspin and #doublespin : books purchased from a particular local library branch and a local resale charity shop, books bought from a particular local indie bookstore, a Europa Editions book, and Andrew Durbin's Skyland.

Ruthiella I loved that Tom Wolfe when I read it back in the ‘90s. I loved the movie too. 12mo

Lots of action in this volume. Usagi of course meets foes on his journeys but it's sad because he little dinosaur friend moves on and now Usagi is alone again. Wonderful graphics and great stories. Loved the TMNT/Usagi mash up story at the end.

3✨I audio/read this one. I can‘t say I was very interested in the beginning, but it was a good mystery. There is several deaths, history about eleventh-century Japan, and even has a love story hidden in there. I think the history and love story are keeping me going with the series, but new friends are an interesting element too. #SeriesLove #20in4 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Monday I start work so might not be able to do much the last day, but looking forward to trying to finish the tagged audio read. I‘d also like to finish my Kindle Read: “Alls fair in love, war, and High School” and Nancy Drew and the clue of the tapping heels. If possible I‘m going to try to read a couple more Manga‘s. I‘d also like to try to finish my Serial Read of Moby Dick so I have less daily reading before work starts. 🥰💛 #20in4

Bookwormjillk Good luck with everything! 1y
Roary47 @Bookwormjillk Thank you! Teaching is great because we get the summers off, but getting started again can be hard. Harder this year with baby E coming in Sep. Today I discovered all but 2 of my classes are capped at 40 students each. 🤯🫣😵 1y
Andrew65 Great to have you with us, best of luck 😁 1y
Andrew65 @Roary47 40! Wow. The Maternity leave might come at the right time. Hope everything goes well and smoothly with school and the baby. 1y
Roary47 @Andrew65 Thank you! I‘m the only teacher at our school that teaches the subject I do. Plus it‘s my 9th year teaching. I agree, baby E will give me a brief rest so I can finish off the year with those numbers. 😮‍💨 1y

This was a good book! You can‘t stop at this one. The author left you on a cliff hanger and now I am reading the second book because I have to know how the story ends. Be prepared to get the second book! I thought that might be the problem when I got half way through this book. The second book was not on my list, I am going to fire up the kindle & let you know how Smoke in the Sun goes. 4 out 5 #poc #feudaljapan #wolf #ya #woc

Here are my contestants for our #LMPBC pageant. Who deserves the sash and tiara?

The book at the top of the stack is tagged. It is the 4th in the series but hopefully can be read alone.

I will tag the others in the comments. Sorry there are 5 choices.

Sace A Plague On Both Your Houses (this is the one that says it's book three but GR calls book 1.) 4y
HappilyEverKrafter I love all these choices because they are so different than the others we will be reading since they're all historical! Man, this is going to be so fun. But back to the main point: I will say I am ALWAYS down for an Agatha Christie mystery, and looking at all the others, I might be most intrigued by The Agency. I love the premise and that the main character is a female! But as always, I'd read any of these! 4y
robinb Oh my @Sace ALL of these sound great, especially since I tend to veer toward historical mysteries over contemporaries. I would honestly be happy with any of these! 😊👍 4y
CBee I am so embarrassed to say that I‘ve never read any Agatha 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ But I am willing to give it a try! I also think The Agency sounds really cool 👍🏻 @Sace @robinb @HappilyEverKrafter 4y
robinb @CBee I read my first Agatha earlier this year...loved it!! 4y
Sace @CBee @HappilyEverKrafter @robinb I will put The Agency at the top of the list (2 votes) and Christie second. 4y
Sace @CBee @HappilyEverKrafter @robinb Also, The Agency is actually for a younger, YAish audience. Is that OK? 4y
robinb @Sace That‘s fine with me. I read YA too. 4y
HappilyEverKrafter @Sace Love YA! I teach middle school, so I love that genre. I‘ve read several lately myself! 4y
CBee @Sace YA is one of my fave genres 😁 4y
CBee @robinb which one did you read? I have “And Then There Were None” on my Kindle I think 🤔 4y
robinb @CBee I read this one and really enjoyed it! I was gifted Murder on the Orient Express and The Mysterious Mr. Quin but haven‘t got to them yet. 4y
CBee @robinb cool! I mean you‘d think with how much I adore mysteries that I‘d have read all of her books 🤷‍♀️ I definitely have to change that! 4y
Sace @CBee @HappilyEverKrafter @robinb I think it will be The Agency. I'm getting so excited! 4y
HappilyEverKrafter @CBee And Then There Were None is my most favorite book of all time! 4y
robinb @Sace cool! 4y
robinb @HappilyEverKrafter good to know! 4y
CBee @HappilyEverKrafter I‘ll read it eventually! When, I have no idea 😂😂 But I‘m pretty sure I have a hard copy somewhere 🤔 4y
CBee @Sace hooray!! 4y

The Brilliance of the Moon is the third installment in the Tales of the Otori. It's an extremely satisfying story of triumph, justice, and love.

The Harsh Cry of the Heron is the somewhat butter conclusion to the Tales of the Otori. It's an Arthurian saga of betrayal and catastrophe, though not without hope.
