Confession: I‘ve never paid much attention to Don Quixote, and assumed it was some epic, stuffy, serious classic. It‘s on the #1001books list so I decided to read it anyway.
Imagine my surprise to find that, while it is epic, it‘s not the least bit stuffy. I‘m laughing a whole lot at the exploits of the knight of the rueful countenance and Sancho and his ass.
Am I doing this wrong, or is it supposed to be absurd and hilarious?

Currey Yes, it IS supposed to be ridiculous and funny, at the time it was written and today. Like you, I was delightfully surprised. I read it last year. 5y
