This book was passed down to my daughter from her older cousin. It is a collection of comic strips, published in 1958. In fact, it reminds me of what we now refer to as graphic novels. I‘m not sure how old the cousin was when she had these books, but her signature inside the cover looks as if she was just beginning to learn how to write the alphabet. She now has two young daughters, and I intend on returning them. #nuyear #calloutthedogs

My reading group chose this for a few months time after the author won the bbc r4 short story award. Ive already read it and its an excellently written book about a farmer in north wales dealing with grief as badger baiters invade his land- dogs are central to the plot but it's a tough read at time as they part of the horible enterprise. A brilliant book.

Read it last year and enjoyed it.His master Willie,is ill ,homeless,and Mr. Bones worries he won‘t be able to see him in the afterlife.Willie want to journey from Brooklyn to Baltimore to find his companion a new home.

Sage would prefer that I focus on him rather than my current read. It's a good one though! It's second in the Wayfarer series. You should definitely check it out if you enjoy humorous fantasy/sci-fi with a diverse cast of characters that skillfully incorporates issues of species, race, and gender.
