Hard to believe anyone would have problems with these consistently banned books.

I didn‘t realize I‘ve read quite a few books that were banned for one reason or another. I am again reminded of how precious our freedom (to read) is! ❤️📚📖
This banned book week I‘ll be rereading one of my favorite classics. This banned book is a book about why it is bad to ban books. Ironic, no? The writing style is a bit difficult to follow sometimes, but the story itself is so well drawn out. #bannedbooksiveread
#3Books #BannedBooksIveRead It‘s been awhile but.......Both Ulysses & Tropic Of Cancer went through major legal battles before they could be published in or mailed to 📦the U.S.
“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist.”
Salman Rushdie
The Glass Castle- offensive language, sexually explicit
The Handmaid‘s Tale- sexuality, profanity, suicide, violence, anti-Christian themes
Eleanor and Park- offensive language

The freedom to read is one I don't take for granted, and I appreciate Banned Books Week more and more as time passes. #3Books #BannedBooksIveRead

1. China dream is one of my favourite books,a harrowing description of the control exercised by the state. All Ma Jian's works are banned in China. That gorgeous cover is by another dissident, Ai Weiwei
2.How ironic that a book on censorship was ,in turn, banned!
3.I hated Lolita. Banned though? Slippery slope.
