This was an inventive, almost surreal blend of memoir & fantasy. Beautiful characters, and a variety of writing styles.
🎧: I never hold the narrator of an audiobook against the book itself, but this one was just ok. I felt the work was owed a better narrator in order to truly appreciate the poetry of the book. I'd recommend the print version.
Listened to this one early this week. Its a short 5 hour book, so its perfect for #AudioCommute and well.. I had to do a bunch of PCR COVID tests at work, so I was able to #AudioWork as well!..
I really liked how you got more information/story from Mark's perspective on this one :)

This week‘s #bookreport is mostly comics and nonfiction essays, not too shabby. Audiobooks from the library are really helping me tackle my tbr piles (cause I can #audiowork much easier these days). I think the only book I felt so-so about this week was the sole fiction novel: babysitters coven. It was just all right. Will not read more of the series tho.
pickI was browsing on BorrowBox the other day, just looking for something relatively short and easy so that I can #AudioWork, and came across this. Never heard of the author or character before, but Phryne Fisher is a kick-ass 1930s detective, and she flies aeroplanes, and that‘s good enough for me. In this one, she solves a kidnapping and a suspected murder. Think I‘ll track down some more of this series.
