A warm bowl on chicken noodle soup, a grilled cheese sandwich, comfy blankets and a fun book is the best way to deal with a cold.

I felt like entering into a new world, in a different era so old, so archaic and fascinating! Deeply researched and astonishingly documented, An Infinity of Little Hours was unlike any non-fiction books I have read before. I couldn't put it down! The story was told about the most austere and isolated monastic order in the western world, the Carthusian Monks. Ms. Nancy Maguire chronicled the life of five individuals from their 👇
This was just lovely. Hunter's story of researching her family's experience during WWII was fascinating . . . so I put the book on hold. I'm so glad I did! Hunter alternates the chapters' points of view, telling the stories of her grandfather, his siblings, and her great-grandparents beautifully. She never falls into easy sentimentality, but I was emotionally and intellectually engaged throughout. Just beautiful!
One of my favorite @unabridgedpod episodes EVER dropped yesterday—we talk about these two great books by #annebogel of #whatshouldireadnext and #modernmrsdarcy fame. We had SO much fun exploring our personality quirks and thinking about the impact of reading and books on our lives (not that we don‘t do that a lot anyway!).
How I read for the Unabridged podcast:
1. Lovely book
2. Notebook (a gift from a student)
3. Purple pen (it‘s my favorite)
4. Book darts (appropriately, these Modern Mrs. Darcy book darts were a gift from my one-time secret pal and Unabridged co-host.)

Can‘t wait to talk about this book and Reading People for an upcoming #unabridgedhighlights episode focusing on Anne Bogel.

#riotgrams Day 3 current read. I got #annebogel latest book #readingpeople . While I'm aware that Myers Briggs and things like that aren't evidence based, it's fun for me to see what they say. I like Anne's voice and the book is pretty neat so far!
