I have a LOT of feelings about both this book AND the movie adaptation (although maybe I should say this screenplay, book adaptation, and subsequent movie adaptation? There are many layers here). I cannot tell you how much of an Ibi Zoboi fan I am, after reading American Street and Pride. Check out our latest Unabridged highlights episode focusing on these two works. We debate the merits of Pride and Prejudice, dive (spoiler-free) into both novels, and then delve deeper (with spoilers!) into American Street.

Ibi Zoboi is a new favorite--I want to read EVERYTHING she writes. This novel captures some of the best parts of Pride and Prejudice and plants them firmly in a new ground that rejuvenates the story. I absolutely love Zuri and Darius (even if he's not quite as off putting as Darcy!). Brilliant novel. Can't wait to talk about this and Pride on Unabridged podcast!
