Who knows what the tone the second book in a series written by only one of the original co-authors, prefaced by a first book I might term horror-fantasy, might be, but what I do know is this is a very cute owl. ☺️

Vibrant colourway vibe from TBR pile. High contrast makes sense for what I'm willing to bet are intense narratives! 💛💙

It's been a while since I read King. But this compilation of stories made me remember why I like his work so much. From one extreme to the next, he keeps surprising me in the most unexpected ways.
N, Mute and The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates were my favourites.
I‘ve read The Shining by Stephen King twice now, and it‘s one of my all-time favorites. I first read it 12 years ago and loved it just as much the second time around. Sure, I knew how the story ended, but I totally forgot a lot of the details.
In my full review, you can see the trailer for the TV mini-series and info about The Stanley Hotel that served as King‘s inspiration for the Overlook.

I released a new episode of The Checkout Stack with Maddie from Natrona County Library in WY today 🎉Each episode we share our recent reads, our guest librarian shares a recommendation from the new releases, a backlist title, and a local author. Then we get a stack on any topic the librarian chooses. This episode we got a non-traditional Cozy Winter Reads stack including The Shining by Stephen King. Tune in wherever you listen to podcasts 💕🎧📚
What am I reading? 😱
The Long Walk was written by Stephen King, aged 18, under the pen name Richard Bachman. It is absolutely horrifying.
