The Instrumentalist | Harriet Constable

Read some good books in March - but The Instrumentalist by Harriet Constable takes top spot for the month. I knew nothing about this book as it was a gift so definitely a nice surprise!

I've read some fantastic books this year, making it tough to choose a favorite! After much deliberation, my top read for March was Slewfoot by Brom, with Bad Badger by Maryrose Wood as a close runner-up. The decision was just as difficult when looking back at my January and March reads, but once again, Slewfoot claimed the top spot. #bookbracket #bookbracket2025

This was SUCH a hard decision. I debated and wavered. In just the last week, I have read three different nonfiction books that could have (should have?) made the bracket. Ultimately, I landed on this one because it actually helped me immediately, in my present life. Long story, but I have a doctor appt in a few weeks (that I have been putting off a while) because of this book. Thanks Wil.

This was a tough decision. I read a lot of good novels this month, so I had so many books I wanted to include. Some may need to be added of the wild card slots. We‘ll see. #fiction #ReadingBracket #BookBracket2025 #auldlangspine

No surprise that Indian Horse was the best book I read in February and that it topped West with Giraffes. The rest of the books I read in February were just ok and while West with Giraffes is good - Indian Horse is in a class of it's own.

February was a pretty bad reading month for me, as I had the stomach flu and could barely watch TV, let alone read. Earlier in the month I did read this awesome queer feminist Japanese thriller though. It has an incredible twist as well as a great open-ended ending. Still though, my heart is with Murderbot, so my January pick goes on to the next bracket. #BookBracket2025 #Murderbot
