I read this a very long time ago in high school, so I decided to reread it for my goal of #ReadingClassicsIn2019. Written by Voltaire, a French philosopher of The Age of Enlightenment, Candide is based on Voltaire's beliefs in reason and freedom of thought.

I just finished reading this very old copy of A Room with a View. This story is set in England and Italy, and deals with how the main character, Lucy, struggled and dealt with the societal conventions imposed upon her as a woman. #ReadingClassicsin2019

I just finished my 1st book of 2019, this tragicomedy set in New Orleans in the 1960s. Ignatius J. Reilly is quite a character, as are several of the others you meet along the way in this story of Ignatius' search for a job and his place in society. Planning & writing down some of the books I definitely want to read in 2019. I've read most of the books on my Famous First Lines mug, but I want to read the ones I haven't read, and reread the ones I haven't read in a very long time. I'm also planning to read/reread several other classics. I enjoyed looking through my bookshelves to see what I should put on my list!
