Pickpick

I love all Curtis Sittenfeld writes and this did not disappoint. Stories of mid-western women primarily my age group (mid-30s-early 40s), dealing with expectations around babies, parenting, career choices, romance, and trump. My favorite was the one of the woman looking back at her time at Dartmouth. Took me straight back to college. Many stories felt so real I forgot it was fiction. #booked2018 #publishedin2018 #airplaneread

Cinfhen I thought this was nonfiction/ essay collection. Didn‘t realize it was fiction. Safe travels and great review💋 6y
Blaire Thank you! Heading to a friend‘s wedding. Her sense of place is spot on. She described several neighborhoods I‘ve lived in and the way she wrote about the people (esp new mothers) and places was perfect. 6y

The Glass Ocean: A Novel | Beatriz Williams, Karen White, Lauren Willig

Pickpick

What a great story! Weaving three characters‘ stories through two time periods about passengers on the Lusitania and its aftermath. I already enjoy Williams‘ and Willig‘s works; I may have to try Karen White‘s works as well. I‘m a little late finishing for #GORead , but had fun again co-hosting with @CouronneDhiver !

This completes the #publishedin2018 prompt for #booked2018 . ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Librarybelle Thanks to those who joined in on the #buddyread ... @Shibbyfruitfly , @MellieAntoinete , @Pamwurtzler , and @kspenmoll ! @Shibbyfruitfly , thanks for sharing your subscription box contents...that was so fun to look through everything! 6y
CouronneDhiver Oh good! I was worried that you might not have enjoyed this one as much. 😊 6y
Librarybelle @CouronneDhiver My work schedule has not been kind to my reading time of late, so everything is taking just a tad bit longer. Definitely a good book! We should look into another buddy read maybe the beginning of January, when the holiday season is over. I‘d love to read another Lauren Willig! 6y

#Publishedin2018 I don‘t read a lot of memoirs but the reviews are saying this is a gripping, brutal and extraordinary story and I‘m intrigued. Looking forward to read it once I can get my hands on a copy.

My most anticipated book of 2018 is The Moon Sister, Book 5 in the brilliant Seven Sisters Series by Lucinda Riley. There is no cover art published yet (at least I think that is the case) so have used the cover art from the previous books. Lucinda Riley is definitely one of my favourite women authors. Thoroughly recommended.

This is due to be published in November 2018.

ephemeralwaltz Yes yes yes 👏👏 can't wait 6y
ephemeralwaltz I can't recommend this series enough!!! 6y
Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz I‘m definitely with you there, I think we should both be co-presidents of her fan club! 😂 6y

ephemeralwaltz @Andrew65 aren't we already?! 😂 I really need to get to some of her standalones this summer 6y
Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz If you‘ve not read it start with 6y
smilingshelves I love Lucinda Riley! I have The Pearl Sister on hold at the library right now. Just need to get over there and pick it up! 😀 6y
Andrew65 @smilingshelves Enjoy! 😊 It‘s a brilliant read and a great story. 6y
Moray_Reads I've never heard of these but the first one is only 99p on Kindle! 6y
Andrew65 @Moray_Reads Quick, grab it! 😂 6y
AlaMich @Moray_Reads I‘ve never heard of her either! But they sound good! 6y
Andrew65 @AlaMich They are excellent, usually have 2 stories going from different timelines both of which are usually excellent. 6y
Weaponxgirl I haven't heard of this either, thanks @Moray_Reads for the heads up about the kindle price! 6y
Weaponxgirl @Andrew65 thanks for suggesting so many books I haven't heard of before! 6y
Andrew65 @Weaponxgirl I‘m quite god at doing that, almost got a reputation for it. 😂 Hope you enjoy it when you get to it. 6y
Weaponxgirl @Andrew65 that's a good reputation to have! I have the same reputation amongst my non online friends, always getting asked how did you even know about this book? Here is a big part of it 6y
TrishB I‘ve just brought the first one on the 99p offer! 6y
Andrew65 @TrishB Yey! 🙌👏🤩 I‘ve just started Luca Veste today, although as travelling won‘t have the chance to read much. 6y
TrishB Cool 👍🏻 hope you‘ve had a rejuvenating break! 6y
Andrew65 @TrishB Yes thanks, hopefully got me into a better frame of mind for the last 7 weeks, always an ultra busy time. Couldn‘t have asked for any better weather! Plenty of sun, sitting out relaxing and reading. 6y

#readingwomenmonth #publishedin2018 it has to be this book surely?! Zola Neale Hurston refused to tidy up the language for white readers and therefore this book languished unpublished till now. I found this on scribd and its my next listen once I've finished up with maya Angelou #scribdpickuk

ephemeralwaltz I'm looking forward to this one as well; 6y
Weaponxgirl @ephemeralwaltz I'm having trouble finishing maya Angelou first, normally I have insomnia but apparently her voice is so soothing that I fall asleep 10 min into the book every time. I don't want this to end though! 6y
