In this moving memoir, Kym shares her experience of feeling silenced and bereft after her beloved Stradivarius, her soulmate violin, was stolen. A heartbreaking loss that resulted in a rebirth of sorts. She eventually finds herself, learns to listen to her own voice and stops bowing to others. Definitely recommend listening to Gone: The Album while reading.

🦋 I‘m not very far into the tagged book yet, but seems like it has the potential to be ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🦋 🦋 I‘ve had twelve 5 ⭐️ reads this year so far. All “the best” for different reasons. Fight Night by Miriam Toews was one of them. So funny and feisty.

141 pages. While the main character is a prodigy and the theme - life struggles of a kid who wants to matter - is promissing, in the end the book turned out to be dull. Missed a better plot and needed more closure on some of the events and characters.

Decent read. Received this for Christmas as a gift, not necessarily something I'd choose on my own. Writing could have been better, the story & timelines were a little disjointed & all over the place. I don't know much about music so a lot of stuff went over my head. A short book at 200 or so pages, but took 3 days to read, maybe because I wasn't that into it.

I have always loved this charming children's book, and when I saw today's prompt, it was the first thing I thought of! #MusicalInstrumentOnTheCover #BiblioMAYnia

I‘m completely captivated by this audiobook 🎶 🎻
It has a great narrator and music in the background at times

“Mary had lived closely with Shelley‘s fear of pursuit, and this, together with parental rejection, night horrors, and experiments in electricity, was a crucial ingredient for Frankenstein.” #Prodigy
I finished the section on Mary Shelley; so much I did not know. Now onto Emily Bronte. @LeahBergen You just might enjoy this book! 😘

LeahBergen I‘ve had this one stacked for so long and haven‘t bought it! It looks like it has been re-released in hardcover. 🤔 I loved this author‘s book about Emily Dickinson (have you read it?) 6y
erzascarletbookgasm Sounds interesting. Look forward to your review:) 6y
kspenmoll @LeahBergen I found this in the new section at the library. I did read her other a long time ago; hoping I did give it away - would like to reread although I know there is more info now in newer books. This is an intro to me as I have not read Emily‘s books 😱, just poetry. Now I have to! What do you suggest first? 6y

LeahBergen @kspenmoll For Emily Bronte? Unfortunately, she only ever wrote the one novel, Wuthering Heights. 😩 She was supposedly writing another novel at the time of her death but it was never found (there is some speculation that her sister, Charlotte, got rid of much of her sisters‘ writings that she didn‘t quite “approve” of). 6y
kspenmoll @LeahBergen Thanks Leah. I never read Wuthering Heights. I really know very little of the Bronte‘s except some of her poetry & his sister‘s Jane Eye. So This book has been exciting for me. I do have more background knowledge re V Woolf & Eliot but have never heard of Olive Schreirer. 6y
LeahBergen I know virtually nothing of Olive Schreiner, either! 6y

This book hit me right in the FEELS. I can't say much without spoiling, but I can say I know Marie Lu is going to be my new heartbreaker. The story was so rich with action, suspense, and romance that was all evenly paced. It was so fresh from the typical dystopian I've read (as was the first one!) DEFINITELY READ IT!!! 💕😭😱

Another heart wrenchingly cheesy romance enveloped in an action packed dystopian world. The book went in all kids of ways unexpected - and I couldn't totally tell what would happen next (which is great!). I'm still crying over the loss of Kaede - one of the most badass fighter pilots I've ever read about - and of course the separation of the Republic's two favs. I have a feeling I know what will happen in the next... 😭😭 #prodigy #legendtrilogy

"The working-class gets shafted everywhere, don't they? My point is this: The Colonies are better than the Republic in some ways. But believe it or not, the reverse is also true. No such thing as a stupid utopia you've been fantasizing about, Day. doesn't exist. There's no point trying to tell you that before. It's just something you had to see for yourself."
