Well, as usual, I‘m down to the wire with my reading challenges. This month I finished #LitsyAtoZ and #Booked2018. Now I just have to focus and finish #popsugar18. I still have 8 prompts to go, and I‘m crazy enough to choose a book for two of them that‘s 1000 pages long!

so-so

This book seems to be quite polarizing based on the reviews I‘ve read. Unfortunately, it wasn‘t a pick for me. While it‘s always fun to read about book within a book 📖 this has a bit of a Lifetime movie vibe...which isn‘t always a bad thing at the right time. This just wasnt the time for me 🙃me.

AmyG It was no great work of literature. But reminded me more if a Hallmark movie. One of my guilty pleasures. I can see why people didn‘t like it. 6y

emilyhaldi I know!!! @Reviewsbylola I‘m on a really bad book streak 😒 I‘m trying to finish up books for #popsugar18 and unfortunately I keep picking duds... books I don‘t really want to read but they fit the prompts and happen to be in my tbr stack. I need to take more time to curate my challenge books in the future!! 6y

Megabooks I did enjoy this one. But I think it was a right book right time for me, too. I needed something schmaltzy. That‘s the only think that makes me wary of joining challenges. I‘m such a mood reader. 6y

Cinfhen @Megabooks I found that most books I want to read can work its way into a challenge box if you‘re creative enough 😆that‘s the best part of the challenge & being a mood reader!!!! 6y

Shutter Island | Dennis Lehane

My husband and I are watching a friend‘s kids this weekend and baby Veda here had a 5am wake up this morning 🤪 so I‘m on the struggle bus hoping that Lehane can keep me motivated. This book reads really fast and I‘m excited to see how it plays out, knowing the ending... I saw the movie years ago and remember being shocked!! This is my pick for #popsugar18 #abookmadeintoamovieyouvealreadyseen 🎥

Something Wicked This Way Comes | Ray D Bradbury

I wanted so badly to like this book bc my husband is a big Bradbury fan, but I just couldn‘t do it. The writing is clever and so descriptive, it‘s fun to read. But the fantastical plot just couldn‘t keep me engaged. Still, I made it over halfway so I‘m counting this for #popsugar18 #abookaboutorsetonhalloween 🎃

Bonus points for the author picture in the back! 🙌🏻🖤

Finished this book today. My choice for our #LTLPBC ! I‘m also using it for a couple prompts.

This book was a lot different than I thought it was going to be. A lot darker than I thought. It was a little slow for me and some parts were a little confusing. I‘m not going to say anything else and let @DebBates101 @Ajessgirl form their own opinions!

I put off reading this book thinking it was over-hyped but I was wrong! I loved this book about a grumpy curmudgeon finding his way in an annoying world while being swallowed up in grief from the loss of his beloved wife. I know he was thinking #whydidithavetobeme ?
